    Well I received a letter today regarding my Halifax Credit Card PPI. They have upheld it but here's their calculations (you don't need to be a rocket scientist to see this is wrong!)

    Refund of premiums = £752.38
    Refund of interest = £135.97
    Interest at 8% = £ 5.12
    Total =£593.47

    Now that is £300 short! And how do they work out the 8% interest is only £5.12? I had it from 2001 to 2005 and they say the interest is calculated up until 17 August 2011. Any help would be great
    To top it all off they added at the end of my letter "Please note that as your credit card account has a default notice all of the payment is to be used to reduce the outstanding debt and therefore no cash payment will be made." :mad:

    I am so angry as I have paid the credit card off, I don't have any outstanding debt. I made my last payment in June this year.

    Just phoned the number on the letter but only open mon to fri! So found another number I had from before. Spoke to a really nice lady I told her everything and she said it's obvious they haven't calculated that properly! She's made a note of when I paid my credit card off and she will get the redress team to ring me Monday afternoon after I finish work :mad: Fingers crossed I get somewhere ;)

    I'm worried I won't receive any payment off them now :(

    As for the calculations, obviously it is £300 exactly short, dont know if you have a numerical keyboard at the side of your main keyboard, if so, it could just be a keying error, 5 is directly below the 8 and if the handler has fat fingers like me, it is easily done, could be something as simple as that.
    I think I may have said before about the FSA guidance, it clearly shows the 8% only gets paid on any credit balance when they are putting you back into the position you should've been in if the ppi wasn't there, they have to start from the beginning. In the guidance example 6 has a credit card example of how it is worked out, it only shows the 8% being added when they are adjusting the balance it goes into credit, but no 8% when you owe them money, this is probably why it is so low. Which I know with our complaint based on ppi on the CC never was, still isn't! Should add in the FSA guidance it is Appendix 2, example 6 of the redress.

    Hi All,

    I have a tricky problem here...hope someone can point me in the right direction.

    ( Ihave had heard of this happening to others, now it's me)...when requesting T & Cs for an old accounts, somewhere in the region of 1997...I have been sent a reconstituted agreement, with NO paperwork showing signatures, dates or anything!

    Just a copy of a general agreement.....would appreciate any comment at all...( I personally think it's naughty, clearly they no longer hold my original agreement...and the address was wrong...

    Thanks

    Citibird x

    Some seem to and others mention that there may be a tax liabilty if your income exceeds the personal allowance and therefore pay it gross.
