Hi sweetie and thank you for your time in replying, thanks to the other guys as well but rather than quote you all i will roll it into one.
Just got home and i have got him sorting through even MORE p/w found 2 x loans with BLACK Horse Limited BOTH with ppi etc so going to get in touch with those too once i trawl out some addresses lol

In respect to the questions you asked:

Alliance & Leicester,, the loan was taken out in July 2004 and he "thinks" it was cleared up in 2006.
The Apr On the loan AND the ppi was 11.4%
He is 85% sure it was done over the phone
It does say on the paperwork that he is self employed and he had only been in his present address for 1 year. They had put down 12 yrs with same employer but obviously this cant be totally true as he was self employed.

Im now doing some emails, or attempting to. I take it Black Horse is something to do with Llloyds TSB as it has a similar donkey on the paperwork :rotfl:.

Many thanks in advance xxx

Hi,

well, as far as the A+L loan is concerned, it ought to be quite easy to work out as you already have the interest charge

So they should pay (roughly):

PPI premium @ £1625.72
Interest on PPI @ £498.28
Interest on the above combined from July 1st 2006 = 854.81

So total due would be around £2969.81

The above is simplistic in that it doesnt allow for any rebate they may have given if you did indeed pay early, and obviously the "July 1st 2006" is a best guess date on my part

Alliance and Leicester were fined £7M by FOS for their telesales tactics around Jan 2005 and Dec 2007, so although your loan was taken prior to this, I'd say you stand a good chance (mine was paid off in 2000 and they paid up!)

I would imagine they gave you "udder" half the spiel regards PPI being required

Best of british, hope they are as forthcoming as they were for mine!

Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!

• I have had some luck claiming from Monument, they originally offered half the PPI at £380.00 as a good will gesture, I replied that I wanted the full amount back plus interest and the next letter offered the full amount £740 plus interest £920.00 totalling £1,640.00.

Hi Cheeky question :D
How far back to Monument go? they wont pay me anything as mine is longer that 6 years ago
thanks in advance
It went back to 2001 i believe, I must admit I didn't ask for a breakdown! Quit while your ahead I think.

Take it to the FOS

The 6 year rule is utter rubbish

FOS complaint will probably take quite a while, but thats better than letting them get away with it!

If you have proof of ppi paid previous to 6 years then you can put them in and ask them to reconsider

I havent got anything as proof :(
Oh dear :( i would accept the 6 years offer then :D:D:D as you will not get them to go back further than the 6 years.

You could ask for all the statements of your account from inception if you want, you just send a SAR and ask for these and all other info they hold on you, this will cost you £10.
It is up to you to make the right decision for yourself.

PPI Reclaim FAILED
I had a car loan with WELCOME FINANCE some years ago and filled in the forms with BRUNEL FRANKLIN who said they would deal with my case, I kept in touch with them and they informed me that i had infact been sold PPI and they would deal with it. They wrote to WELCOME and told me i would have to wait 8 weeks for a response which i did, They came back to me and said they were going to pursue the matter with WELCOME but i would have to wait a further 8 weeks for another response THEN out of the blue a few days later i received a letter from BRUNEL FRANKLIN saying they are NOT taking the case any further and can not assist me further in this matter. OH well i tried and now i will forget it so anyone out there thinking of using a PPI RECLAIMS COMPANY think twice before using this company seems to me they give up to easy.many thanks BILL
Hi there, when was this loan taken out and who sold you the loan?.
It is possible it was a broker, did BF give you reasons why they cannot do it?.

Dear All, is anyone else getting the run around from Barcaly's? Yes they were the first bank to hold their hands up and say we will pay out if you got your claimin before Arpil. But I've found they constantly change dates as to when they are going to send out letters. To date I've not received one letter even saying that that they are going to honour the claim I did on behalf of my Mum, I've just got info from the press!. Constant ringing and promises have all fallen to the way side, now I'm told they have a deadline of till end of August, after being previously promised an acknowledgement letter 6 weeks ago! In the interim FOS got back to me and upheld the claim!, and said to contact Barclays so i did and was given the run around again!. I just wanted to find out what the amount of refund is? so I asked how they are calculating it ie what principle amount they are using etc anyhoos still waiting for call back a week and half on! I've roughly worked it out but can anyone be defintive please? figures are:
Amount of Loan 14,500 at APR 6.1% with Premium Loan (PPI) £2744.10 Total £17,244.10
Total Amount Payable £16,929.00 + £3204.00
Still paying PPI. Plus I think they are giving a good will gesture of 8% simple interest per year this was over 5yrs.
I make it potential claim back around 5K?????
Any ideas anyone?, Please :)

Hi,

I got a huge amount back last year for a £25K loan with them. It took about 6 months though! Good luck, sure you'll be fine!

Well done on your success.

There is a link below on how the FOS calculates PPI refunds, maybe this will help until someone comes along who can explain this to you properly.;)
