Hi Everyone, Patience is a virtue.
just remember that when you are making your umpteenth phone call to whoever it is you claiming from...... it takes time but you will get there in the end .
GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY who is still in the que waiting....... mind you I`ve still not actually had the money returned yet but it is early days since i got the letter to accept the full amount back. A week has past, sent the acceptance form back by recorded delivery so I could check when it had arrived but I`m told by the Royal mail it can take up to 15 days for delivery to the bank...... thats even a joke by Royal Mail standards.

I gather the problem is caused by the bank.

I sent something recorded delivery to BarclayCard and they initially denied receiving it despite the Royal Mail giving me the name and signature of the person who signed for it.

It turns out they have post redirected, so the person signing for it didn't work at the office I sent it to - which is why they couldn't find the post.

I've added that to my complaint ;)

this figure will effectivly return the payment protection premiums you have paid (including interest) details of the offer are shown in the acceptence of offer form enclosed
you should note that this offer includes an element of 8% statutory interest amount to £1170.48

 When I get my payout, it's going in the bank for a rainy day - except for the part I'm going to use for a new TV :D

I'm yet to receive anything, complained last year about PPI from Barclaycard and Virgin, and last week I get a letter from BC saying I'll be getting a refund in August as a gesture of good will. My complaint is with the Ombudsman so BC have sent me a letter directly. Will believe it when I see it!
  • Hi,

I rang MBNA this morning and after a 25 minute wait to get through to their customer service department, I said I had sent in a claim form in March and after a couple of letters back to me extending the time they needed, I had heard nothing since the middle of May.

The guy I spoke to was very helpful and said the notes indicated i should have been sent an offer letter on the 24th June. He put me on hold while he spoke to the PPI team and came back and said I was due a payment of £7,784 which included the refund of all payments plus interest and compensation!! He said he would arrange for a copy of the letter to be sent out so i could check the breakdown.

I would encourage anyone to put their claim in themselves as all I did was fill in the form on this website (which took about 20 minutes) and send it off at the cost of a stamp. I didnt even need to send any other paperwork or old statements. I obtained the details of when I opened the credit card account from my experian credit file which I got online for free.

Just Barclays and Mint to go now!! Thanks to everyone on this website and in particular this forum for the great advice and encouragement they provide.
