Hi everyone,
I wonder if any of you knowledgable folks could help a friend of mine who is trying to reclaim mis-sold ppi as I've claimed back bank charges but know next to nowt about ppi:rolleyes: .
Basically wrote to Natwest on 20th January using Martins template:D , recieived acknowledgement back to say being dealt with by complaints dept. etc. She waited nine weeks and didn't get a response so posted the second letter (martins template) giving them seven days etc.
Received a response today saying there looking into it (there doesn't seem to be any great rush!), just wondered what to do now as it been ten weeks and think they are dilly dallying:o . Also they included a questionnaire for her to fill in asking in detail how this policy was mis sold. They say that there is no obligation to fill this in though and she's reluctant to as they may use it as a reason to not pay out if she doesn't get it all correct (it's very detailed!):o
Any thoughts on what to do next? any help and advice much appreciated xx:DComping since 3rd November 2007.2 x £50 Faith Vouchers.Tray Wrigleys Extra FusionTray Wrigleys Extra Big One2 x Big songs for little people-double cds!Cadburys vintage vanOli *mystery prize*0 -

It sounds a simple answer but write to loans.co.uk, I did when I was passed back to them with one of my claims and they were very approachable and prompt in replying, and whats more admitted mis-selling and are writing to the lender for final figures in order to reimburse me!!:j
Give it a go, use the head office address in herts ( sorry at work at the min and address is at home) will post on here when I get the chance.0 -
I have a similar claim with Egg which is in the hands of FOS. Doesn't look promising going by your experience. As FOS have said no, have you the option of going the court route or is that now it?Hi everyone,
Tried to reclaim PPI from EGG Credit Card total amount £643 but usual fob off letters from them so sent it off to FOS back in December 07.
I applied for the credit card online back in 2004.
This morning have had reply from FOS to say that they stand by EGG because I ticked the PPI button online for the PPI and I therefore knew about it. Although I state that I think the website is misleading. They say that the online button for PPI is not defaulted onto automatically coming up with a tick and therefore they believe that EGG have not done anything wrong.
So if you are trying to claim on the above as I did - WARNING - the FOS are standing by EGG so I would say don't even bother.
Am disappointed as I have asked them to cancel PPI back in November and still getting charged with constant arguments over it every month when the online statement comes in!
Also think that the FOS are extremely slow. I have had better results on other PPI claims by going straight to court, with majority of the complaints being settled before gogin all the way to court date! And have been successful in claiming back over £5k in PPI from several organisations on PPI and credit card charges.
I have no faith that the FOS can handle the current high volume of claims and I would highly recommend going straight to court in future. More expensive but quicker and in my case it has proved successful.
If anyone out there has had a success with EGG credit card online PPI application then please let me know what and how you approached them!
Am filing this one (the first may I add!) in the NOT WON BIN!!
Thanks and don't give up folks! They all owe us money!

Hi,
A little advice needed please with my LTSB graduate loan.
I took out a LTSB graduate loan in 2004 of £5900. I wrote to TSB in January of this year with my first PPI mis-selling letter, basically saying that I felt pressured into taking out the PPI, that I was made to feel that I wouldn't get the loan if I didn't buy the policy and stating that I really have no need for such insurance anyway as I am in the fortunate situation that my family would help me with repayments in the unfortunate situation of "becoming ill or losing my job blah blah blah" or whatever else they tell you at the time in order to get you to buy the policy!. I have had 2 letters from them to say they were looking into my complaint, and again to say they needed more time. Today I received a letter basically saying that they don't believe that I have a case and that I should have read the paperwork properly (OK, point taken , BUT when you are a skint graduate (which I certainly was at that point) and you are made to feel as if you must take out PPI in order to get the loan....)). I have been sent a copy of the paperwork that I signed (now, I never claimed not to have signed anything - my claim was that I was pressured into buying something I really have no need for whatsoever) and they have said that I should contact the Financial Ombudsman if I was not happy with their response. Are they just fobbing me off? Should I now send Martin's 2nd letter to LTSB or go to the Ombudsman? Please someone advise me!
I did however get a small result from them -I had another loan, taken out over the internet, which I only had with them for a short amount of time before it was paid off. They have offered me £77 plus interest (since 2001 ish) so I am happy with that.
Am also waiting for a response from them re: LTSB credit card PPI - watch this space!!!

Hi all......
I am trying to calculate how much I need to claim, want to issue a claim, but cant work out how much interest. I just cant get my head round it and am useless with figures, totally rubbish!
Heres the statement...
10 July 2002 Advance 18000.00
10 July 2002 Insurance 2021.33
31 July 2002 Interest 125.84 .......Total Balance 20,147.17
Monthly payments of £220.43
one year later after having paid £2645.16, there was still have a balance of £19368.27
Out of the £220.43 a month I pay approx £170 is interest:eek:
only £50 a month of it actually pays my balance...omg!
Now five years into this dreaded 15 year loan....I have actually paid £15776.14 however my balance is only approx £4000 lower than the start.
Frightening to look at!!!!
I really want to issue a claim through the MCOL site but I need to know exactly how much I am claiming,
ANY HELP APPRECIATED!
I really dont know where to start.
I havent a clue how to do it on the calculator....spent hours....got nowhere!!! (a true dumb blonde ...lol)0 -
I cant take to FOS, because of date 2002, not covered.
I know they would do calculations if I could take through them, but cant and have to work out myself to fill in the money claim online form.0 -
Hi,
Keep me informed how you get on as i am fighting Lloyds TSB for my partner, i have five complaints with them.
The 2 hardest will be credit card PPI, and a loan PPI, like yourself she signed the document, but her complaint is she did not want it but they strongly recommended it, through 2003/2005/& just recently in 2008, though she has had income protection since 2006, should be interesting as she has alternative cover sold to her by the same branch. Any templates you have or are using, or legal arguments will be of assistance.

Been refused a PPI refund from the Halifax. My grounds were self employment, not being told is was not compulsory, not requesting it etc.
Before going to the FOS, is it worth doing a data protection request for the signed application form, and any transcrpts from taped conversations ragarding the PPI?
Also, whilst i have been awaiting the banks response, the 6 years have passed. Will the FOS still accept the complaint, or have i been duped?
Looks like you have had a great deal of success, can you tell me abit more about the data prtection requests?0
