  • hi sorry if this question has already been asked!!!
both me and my husband have an egg loan and i am positive (although my brain is a bit mummy mush!) that when we took it out on line it would not let us complete without agreeing to ppi ( which im sure said you could cancel but you needed to call them to sort). Well we never rang them and then just forgot about it which is so stupid i know!! can anyone else confirm if they had this with egg? and is there anyway i can check this was the case as cant seem to find any paperwork! also if this is the case can i claim back ppi? sorry im so confused on this ppi thing!

If you take out a loan and pay say 10 months of that loan and then you take out another loan from the same bank to pay off the first loan and pay off a credit card, is the 10 months of PPI refunded?

    For instance:

    Loan 1 = £8000 (£109 a month, £28 Loan insurance). Over 60 months.

10 Months x £28 = £280 I have paid on PPI for my first loan.

Do I have a chance of getting that back as well as the PPI I have paid for on my second loan or was that £280 refunded and used to cut the cost of my second loan?

My partner is on an IVA with most of her debt being owed to natwest - is it advisable or even possible to claim the PPI on the loans she had?
    Any advice welcome.

  • Hi I have a loan with the halifax and also ppi.
I made a claim in 2004 when I lost my business and was out of work which they covered me for 12 months payments. on the 12th month I became ill and was registered disabled. the ppi does cover you if you can't work for being disabled for 5 years but not me as I had received the 12 payment for being unemployed a few days earlier. they say i still have to pay the ppi but what is the use as I am not working so won't be claiming on it as i won't be going back to work. Can i reclaim the ppi for the last 2 years?

If you don't like it well you will just have to lump it!
  • hi don't know if any one can answer this
I took out a mortgage three years ago and was told I had to have a PPI (5 year). Due to two periods of bad health I have made two claims on the policy. I am now repaying the mortgage in full and have two years left of the five years. Can I still reclaim any or all of the premium?
  • Read the article on reclaiming PPI and just want to make sure that I'm not being dim.
    • I have a personal loan from Liverpool Victoria (fixed 17k for 6 years@7.0%) started Oct 2004.
    • I have a single premium policy for PPI, which totals £4k
    • I have changed the Direct Debt date for payment once.
    • Nothing else about the loan has changed.
Am I correct in thinking that I have a valid claim to get ALL of the PPI back?

Would that include interest on the PPI amount?

A quick confirmation would be great please :)

    Thanks

  • I had PPI on my Trustcard since 1986 until I cancelled it earlier this year after reading the stories on here folks.I have written to LTSB on this matter and they have informed me that I have to wait 28 days until they can get access to my Trustcard Account. Is this normal?
  • Hello

I took out a £3000 loan (over 5 years) a few weeks before leaving for a round the world trip. I told them that i would be quitting my job to do this, and that the only money i had for repayments would be the loan money (and possibly some spare cash i earned from odd jobs). They said that based on this information they strongly recommended i take out PPI (and automatically added it onto the extra £2000 i ended up taking out 6 months into the holiday - it was my first dealings with any kind of loan, and i didn't have a clue what i was doing)

Would that fall under the missold catagory?

    Cheers

  • Hi all,
can anyone tell me if these rules apply to business loans aswell. I feel i may have been miss sold a business loan recently on the grounds that i was told if i didnt take out the ppi i simply wouldnt be approved for the loan.
i took the loan out in july and think its a single premium policy as the insurance amount was added to the total figure ( which as a result is still greater than the amount borrowed). this was also after the recomendations in march from the fsa i think!.
i`ve had plenty of loans in the past all with the same bank who i`ve been with for 20 years and never had ppi. but as this was a business loan i felt that things may have worked differently. ive never missed a payment and never needed to claim and didnt see why things should be any different this time round. icon8.gif ...

    any comments appreciated J..
