I am currently trying to claim back ppi from black horse. First letter denied mis-selling. They had investigated but their was no evidence etc.
I have sent second letter as they really did force us into it and ripped us off. Awaiting their second fob off!
will report any further. xx0 -

Write to them again telling them you are NOT happy with their decision. I wrote to Alliance & Leicester a second time after their first reply stated that they had NOT mis-sold me the PPI, I disputed it as I genuinelly believed that they had mis-sold it to me. In your letter advise them that you will be taking it up with the Ombudsman. Although in my case Alliance & Leicester still disputed the mis-selling of the PPI, they did 'as a goodwill gesture' cancel the PPI and made a full refund (see my story above).
Good luck, and don't give up. Hope to see your success story here soon......0 -
Morning all
I too am currently trying to claim from black horse and without a doubt they did NOT give us an option to have ppi they said we had to have it or no loan so will keep you posted on what they try and fob me off with. I've already claimed over 2 grand back from Lloyds TSB in bank charges and won't let this go either

After watching Martin on GMTV I decided to take his advice and downloaded his template to reclaim PPI due to being missold policies on the basis of pre-existing medical conditions. I wrote to LLoydsTSB for a bank loan, LloydsTSB credit card, Capital One credit card, Grattan, Littlewoods and Great Universal. As yet I have only received one reply from Grattan with a token gesture refund of £100 which is I feel is inadequate considering I was paying PPI for more than 10 years. I am going to take Martin's advice and reject the offer to see if they will increase the value. I will keep you posted.:mad:0

I had a loan with Natwest for 3 years which ended July 2006. When I request information i.e. start date and amount of the loan they were unable to provide this to me. The loan was also topped up half way through the loan so there were two different start dates with two different loan numbers.
NATWEST state that once the loan has been paid off they do not keep this information past 6 months.
How do I get the information now? What are my rights here?
Thanks

Hello Patrick,
It is my understanding that financial instituations are legally obligated to keep records for 6 years and therefore they should still be able to access details of your loans to assist you.
Unfortunately I'm not entirely sure which laws/regulations require them to retain records for 6 years - hopefully somebody more knowledgeable will be along soon and be able to advise on this.
Once you have this info I would contact NatWest again to request the information and reminding them that they are obligated to retain records for 6 YEARS, not months!0 -
I have this morning recieved another response from welcome finance regarding my letter to them. They are saying that "the agreement entered into was correctly executed dy us in dec 2003, this pre-dates the regulation of our business by the FSA and therefore the principles you seek to rely on are not applicable." It goes on to say that if i have evidence which i seek to rely on then to forward it to them and they will be happy to consider the matter. Basically i'm stuck because i don't know what i should do now. Please someone tell me what i should do next?ladyknight:grouphug:0
