  • I had the same problem. Because they front load the loans you can't remove the PPI without cancelling the loan and taking out a new one, and you can only get the same rate if you still have a graduate account (I think it lasts about five years out of Uni).

I was going to refinance with a different company, but was lucky enough to get a loan from my Dad to cancel (he had just inherited some money so I was lucky with the timing). I have now managed to reclaim the PPi on the graduate loans I had, but unless your daughter can refinance her current graduate loan with someone else, it is going to be difficult to free up that money.
  • If and when a ppi claim is settled, does this affect your credit score, or prevent anyone from obtaining credit from the same lender in the future, or from any other lender?????????????? especially if your self employed

    simple answer
    Yes!

Not because it was mis-sold and not even because it was and is a total rip off. The simple fact is that the lender will have scewed things up when settting the loan up in the first place. (They nearly all do) and they will have broken various regulations and laws when they did.

Look at the premium as a savings plan and look forward to getting it back in the very near future.

However, I have since seen the light.

I wish there were a few people that could give advice on these posts. Seems to be a lot of entries, but not much advice forthcoming.

    Here, here!

This appears to be the problem with most forums of this type.

It would be much better as two columns - one Questions & one Answers:rolleyes:
  • After reading the articles on ppi reclaiming i immediately got out my car loan agreements, ive got 2 because the car company said the loan company wouldn't lend us the full amount, so i have 2 loan aggreements each with a single premium, ive downloaded the templates but dont know which reason to choose because we are still paying off the loans
    Thanks for any help

Just received a reply from Capital One regarding mis sold PPI. They have said that we requested it on our original form and have returned a copy to us. Well I don't think we did tick that box. The tick in question is unlike any of the other 5 ticks on the page (all have tails),its at a different angle and a heavyier pen has been used. Somebody else has added this to our form.

What do we do now. My husband said I should photocopy it mis the tick and send it back saying our copy dosen't have a tick!!!!
The more I find out the less I know!
