FREEDOM FINANCE
Just an update from the last time. Sent a second template letter to Freedom Finance no reply. Sent all evidence to Ombudsman regarding the mis-sold PPI and received a letter which, I was hoping not to receive from them stating because the loan and PPI was taken out in 2004 it was out of their jurisdiction meaning they cannot help me. Paid a visit to the Citizens Advice and they basically said its court action (which I cannot afford should I lose) or to leave it. Looks like Freedom Finance have got out of this one and we are just over £9K less off. Even though I have a telephone call stating we want a quote without PPI, he evades the question and states in a lower tone if we can't afford to take out the PPI he does not think he can get us the loan!!!!!!!!!!
Does anyone have any ideas?:wave:0 -
The whole thing with FirstPlus is starting to grate on me, I am getting nowhere, it was sent to the FO in October only just being looked at now, they dissmissed my claim with the first letter saying it was their final decision, they never even gave me a chance to write a second, so I guess they are pretty sure of themselves, still I have to try I know I was missold, God I'm frustrated, Interest rates have gone down still no sign of any letter from them reducing payment, good job they didn't put them up, my payments would have increased the very next day.Claimed back almost £4000 so far from HSBC for mis-sold PPI
£2083.00 + £242.00 8% interest from FirstPlus and lower monthly premiums:D Studio Cards paid off my account and gave me £125.00 in gift vouchers. £500.00 Barclays.0 -
Just a quick one for all those looking to trya and crack Egg for PPI mis-selling and possible referal to the FOS.
Having been told by Egg to go away at the first fence, I today phoned the FOS, and they informed me that Egg were registered with some scheme prior to the Jan 2005 FSA regulation date thingy! (sorry but memory not so good!).
They were registered from 2 November 2000, so anybody fighting on their own, and getting nowhere, the FOS will look at the case for all claims back to this date.
Good luck everybody. Keep your fingers crossed as the FOS have registered my claim, and are sending me the paperwork.0 -
I tried to claim back PPI on a loan I took out with Direct Auto Finance (big mistake!!!) I was not told the policy was optional and was basicaly held to ransom until I signed all the paperwork. I did complain about the policy a few days after but recieved no reply.
I have recently contacted Direct Auto Finance about the policy only to be told that I had no claim as the time they were not registered with the FSA at the time the policy was taken out which was 2004. If I had known this I certainly would have went no further in the loan application.
Should I take my claim further and who should I contact.0 -
louietudor wrote: »i cannot look at the t&c for the lloyds one as i no longer have it - i asked for a copy but they never sent it and i asked for a breakdown of the difference in employed cover and self employed cover at the time the ppi was sold and they have not provided this - ive included this in the submission to the ombudsmen (it was an insurnance that was added at the start of the loan)
now i think capital one have been crafty and sent me the most upto date t&c - its states you can claim for redundancy or business failure if your self employed (????) not sure where business failure came from but im sure it was not in the t&c in 2001 when the card was first opened?? - still cannot claim for unemployment unless the business has ceased trading
i also asked them for a breakdown of the difference in employed cover and self employed cover at the time the ppi was sold and they have not provided this
what do you think my chances of getting a copy of the original t&c are as im sure the ones provided have only just been published??
Sorry was having a bit of a break. When you ask for the request stipulate the original terms and conditions of the loan in the letter. Send it make sure it's registered and keep a copy for yourself. If no answer in 8 weeks get the information commisioner involved.0 -
Stillsmiling wrote: »Well Worst Plus phoned me today so I've just phoned them back and they've gone through their "enhanced rebate" figures with me. I told him to send the letter anyway so I have it in writing. Then at the end I told him that I still wasn't happy with their response and would therefore be taking it to the ombudsman. I was a little disappointed with his response which was very matter of fact and said "well they will then ask for my case files which I will provide and then they will make their decision". I guess a little part of me wanted him to say "NOOOO, don't do that, let me give you all your money back immediately".
Well I can dream can't I!?
So tomorrow I do the ombudsman forms. Any advice on filling it out please? I don't want to say something slightly wrong and mess up my case!
Ok if a company offers this go directly to the ombundsman as any figures that they work out will always be in their favour not yours. Also don't settle for a new loan application as they don't have to do this and to tell you the truth again they will rip you off.0 -
