    :D Hi all,

A most bizarre week regarding my complaint. First of all, no response from First Plus by the agreed date on all the letters. This suprised me as even though they are a shocking company, they normally do reply to you when they say they will, even if it is a fob off letter.
Waited a couple of days to see if it had been delayed in the post. Nothing came, not even the requested tape recordings!
Sent a really snotty email last night to my complaints executive demanding answers immediatly! (No really, the email was heated to say the least) :o Got a reply back from him today appologising and saying that there was a delay in getting the tapes from I.T. but that I would get a final response by Friday.
Ok I thought, but a couple of hours later I found an answer message on the phone from another complains executive who has now taken over my case, saying that she wanted to speak with me. Also, another email from her in my inbox really grovelling about how sorry they were and that my complaint had failed to be handled in the highest standard they would normally expect, and that she has passed it to "seniors managers" to investigate. It also said that a decition had been reached and that she would personally contact me tomorrow to discuss this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D
WOW! From being totally frustated by the whole thing, I am now slightly optimistic. Would they personally contact me by phone if they were going to refuse to refund me????? Maybe this 4 MONTH saga is coming to an end at last!!!

    Lets wait and see.

Hi Cocker - I've got my own claim underway and have been closely following the posts on the PPI discussion forum. Just a word of caution, a number of our resident experts have warned against engaging these firms over the phone as there is no proof of what has been said or agreed. They have strongly advised that all communication is kept in writing in the event that you need to take action through the FOS or in court at a later date. I really hope it goes well for you and that your reclaim is successful :D

Hi, thanks for that, I know what you mean about doing things over the phone. I dont normally like doing things that way, I prefer to write things down so I dont forget anything. Apparently there is also confirmation coming through the post too as I requested their final response in writing in case I needed to go to the FOS.

    Hi,
Ive had a look through the forum and can seem to find any talk of PPI reclaims from Morgan stanley card (who have now been taken over by Goldfish).
Has anyone has any attempts (or better still success) with PPI reclaims from Morgan Stanley?

I have sent them the template letters to reclaim and threatening finacial ombudsmen action and they responded saying they didnt have time to look into my request and i was welcome to escalate my case to the "F,O"

So i have now sent my letter to the FO and got a reply to say they are very busy at the moment but my case will be looked at shortly.

So while i wait i would like to know if anyone else has tried with morgan stanley and how far they got?

    Thanks in advance !

  • Finally got the call transcript from Worst Plus today. Dh does say that we have life insurance and death in service but says he isn't sure about some of the others. On the basis of that they recommended PPI, although it may duplicate some of the cover we already have. So okay, hands up to that one, however as I was the one being covered I still believe that they should have asked me those questions and dh wouldn't necessarily know what work benefits I have anyway! On top of that I listened carefully and she said about 5 years for the PPI and then a refund but at no point was it made clear that the PPI was actually payable for the life of the loan or that interest was payable on top of it. I've read the docs in detail now and it isn't clear there either!

  • Just had two recorded delivery letters returned (unopened) after sending template letters in respect of three Woolwich loans (the last of which has just been paid off). I then contacted Financial Ombudsman Office on 0207 964 0500 to enquire who under the takeover by Barclays Bank should the letters be addressed to.

An extremely helpful agent has taken the details and is writing to the relevant Department of Barclays (copying me in) and forwarding the documentation to facilitate a complaint in 8 weeks if they do not respond satisfactorily.

Have initiated seperately letters in respect of First Plus, The Funding Corporation who have responded accepting letters and opened investigation. Others include Blackhorse Finance, Capital Bank PLC, Royal Bank Scotland Credit Card, A&L, and The Abbey Credit Card - Watch this space !!!

Received £9,500 under Bank Campaign including winning court case LTSB -Martin for PM !!

Need some advice, Bought a car from welcome finance in 2006 and wass told would not get finance unloess I took out PPI and even if I did they would increase finance so would cost me the same anyway. Once tried to claim through my local branch but was told couldn't. Got an unsecured loan from them last year, when I spoke to the salesman on the phone I asked him to take into account that although the car was in my name, my boyfriend paid it and when I went to branch to get the loan, somebody was being signed off on that part of their training and was told I was not accepted for the loan as I had too much going out through the car, initial salesperson called me the next week apologising and said if I come in I could have the loan. He did not mention payment protection. Then stumbled upon this site and realised I was mis sold initial policy and realised my new loan also had PPI. Cut a long story short! Have used template letter regarding car PPI, and their final response is it has not reasonable prospect of success. Am now awaiting forms from FOS. Has anybody else been through this already, I'm not sure what I should do about my loan, certainly not the most responsible lenders but then I took it.
I have now had welcome saying they cannot cancel PPI, where do I stand on this? Witheld last months PPI payment on the understanding that I would pay it when a decision is made, they are saying because they've given final response unless I pay it they will come and get the car. Am sending 2nd letter S/Delivery today with cheque enclosed. Also sending 1st letter re: loan PPI cos wasn't even told I was taking it out. This is such a minefield to me, hate not understanding all the legal side. Anyone had any successes with Welcome, tried searching success forum but not very good with pc.
