  • you should be able to cancel and claim back the ppi with 8% interest on the grounds alone that you were not working and it was inapproprate i recommend giving the FOS a call 02079640500 option 3 they will send them a letter to expect your complaint and to deal with (waiting to find out for sure but im suspecting its going to carry a bit of weight lol). The FOS told me to put down all the reasons as to why the PPI was miss sold and invalid, i have therefore listed those which apply to me in bullet points so it is clear
MY Successes = RBS PPI, RBS bank charges, Aqua PPI, Aqua cc charges, HFC PPI, Welcome Finance PPI, Blackhorse PPI Mums Ongoing= Swift Advances PPI, London Scottish PPI, Blackhorse chgs, GE money pyts missing

  • I currently have PPI complaint with Black & White for a secured loan about 5 years ago (this paid off after 18 mths). Anyway - they promised response in 28 days (so by yesterday) - but nothing, so I phoned. Person I was dealing with had left suddenly and my file hasn't been looked at since (yay me - not). Anyway phone call seemed a bit strange and I decided to google them and found this news link http://www.moneymarketing.co.uk/cgi-bin/item.cgi?id=158301&d=340&h=341&f=342

Can anyone tell me if this is going to affect my claim (either positively or negatively). I am slightly concerned about the 'administration' thing.

Any advice welcome. Should I escalate asap? I don't think I can go to FOS due to timeline - so should I MCOL? Don't know if there are many Small Claims PPI results (seems to work for credit card charges, but PPI is a different kettle of fish all together).

    Thanks DB

Need some advice, Bought a car from welcome finance in 2006 and wass told would not get finance unloess I took out PPI and even if I did they would increase finance so would cost me the same anyway. Once tried to claim through my local branch but was told couldn't. Got an unsecured loan from them last year, when I spoke to the salesman on the phone I asked him to take into account that although the car was in my name, my boyfriend paid it and when I went to branch to get the loan, somebody was being signed off on that part of their training and was told I was not accepted for the loan as I had too much going out through the car, initial salesperson called me the next week apologising and said if I come in I could have the loan. He did not mention payment protection. Then stumbled upon this site and realised I was mis sold initial policy and realised my new loan also had PPI. Cut a long story short! Have used template letter regarding car PPI, and their final response is it has not reasonable prospect of success. Am now awaiting forms from FOS. Has anybody else been through this already, I'm not sure what I should do about my loan, certainly not the most responsible lenders but then I took it.

Hi, the exact thing happened to me. They sent copies of the screen that I was to have completed. The only thing was that on close inspection the employment details were incorrect as they showed my home address as my place of work! I also was not aware, and couldn't see on their print, any opt out button to click! I sent them second letter just over 2 weeks ago stating all these things, but they have still not replied:mad: . Will post today a reminder and if they have not replied by this time next week I will refer to FSO!

    Will keep updates posted.
I have had the same response from Egg. They sent print outs of what i filled in on the internet application. On my print outs headed 'APPLICATION REVIEW' the details i filled in ie.name, address, financial summary etc, are all in dark grey ( no mention of PPI)...the 'payment protection,''credit limit' and 'credit score' seem to be their section and there isn't a yes/no, tick box of any sort.
I wil send a letter tomorrow to ask for copy of the signed form for accepting PPI and for a correct print out showing the yes/no option.

Please can you look at your reply from Egg and see if u think i'm correct in what i see on the print outs
  • OHMIGOD, First Plus made me the usual offer, I went back asking for more information. I sent it by email and today sent it in writing too. Today I've received a letter telling me that they have refunded the money to my loan and my monthly premium will be reduced by about £60 - certainly not the amount of the PPI that is paid each month! More importantly I HAVE NOT asked them to refund it and have not returned their letter!

I am shocked and cannot believe they would do this. I've just phoned the guy I've been dealing with and have left him a very detailed message suggesting that not only does he respond to my questions but he also sorts out the refund as I have NOT agreed to it!

 I just recieved a phone call from a company (sorry can't remember the name) saying they could claim all my ppi's back for me. I quickly asked him about fee's and if I was to win they would charge me 29% . I explained to him that I was doing all fo that myself and of course he tried to tell me that I would stand a better chance of winning if I went with them. I replied, "Do you know a chappy call Martin Lewis?" He said he had heard of him so I said "Well, he's a friend of mine". The bloke on the phone said O.K have a good evening and hung up :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
    2008 won £5119.04 :j
    2009 won so far £0:rotfl:
    All together now..........
Always look on the bright side of life
