Hi,
I am about to start a claim via MCOL against Blackhorse. I took out a loan with them in Aug 2001 then extended the loan in July 2002, they were classed as 2 seperate loans. On both occasions I was told that I had to have ppi in order to be approved. My question is, do I have to make 2 seperate claims or can I do one claim for both. Also the first loan falls out of the 6 year limit, does this make a difference?
Any help would be appreciated.
Anyone?0 -

I've got what sounds like a similar issue. I've claimed for both in one go, as when I looked at the paperwork, the loan account number remained the same.
I added a bit in my letter to say:
As you will note when you investigate this matter, I raised the loan in February 2006 (again accepting PPI under the influence of information previously given), and the PPI payments were raised from £17.82 to £24.46 per month. I expect this to be taken into account whilst you are calculating the refund.
In order to help you with your investigation, the address I was living at when I originally applied for the loan was XXXXXXXXXX
What you could do is put both account numbers at the top of the letter, and maybe where I've noted the date of the change add "this is when the account number changed from XXX to XXX".

I am pretty confident, Martin Lewis is a legend!
Have already busted Lloyds and Natwest through MCOL winning back £1000s in bank and credit card charges.
Looking forward to doing the same to Promise Finance, then Natwest(for ppi on credit card), Endeavour Personal Finance (ppi on loan),Lloyds (ppi on graduate loan) and GE Money (ppi on House of fraser store card).

I don`t suppose I can do this with my bank at the moment as we are all waiting for the outcome of the long and protracted court caseThe Grass may look greener
but it`s always going to take just as much mowing

Yep, no joy with letters!
So now the gloves are off!
I had no problem with most of credit card charges they settled after couple of letters but the ppi re-claim is proving a little more trickier, hence the size of the discussion forum compared to the Success forum on this site!
Good luck with bank reclaiming!

So.... I've decided to try and claim back the PPI that I paid.
If I'm successful will this help me resolve the problem with my credit report.
Because I couldn't claim on my PPI I ended up getting behind with my loan and cc payment when I became unemployed.
I was advised afterwards that my accounts should have been frozen for a few weeks/ months as I couldn't claim, but they weren't.
Anyway because of this I defaulted on both accounts and now the 2 show on my credit report which are causing me a problem in trying to get a mortgage.
I got work and paid off the loan and the cc balance soon after. But I now have a bad rating for the next 6 years.
Why do banks seem to take enjoyment out of doing this?0
