CPW/E2SAVE Orange OVP Deal? Watch out!
If you recently signed up to this excellent deal, inspect your first bill as I got mine today and they had:
- Charged £30 instead of the £15 (for first 3 months) line rental
- Charged for the Itemised billing even though I had cancelled it after I received the phone.

As reported elsewhere here Orange have double charged many CPW/e2save customers on OVP tariffs.
At last they have ADMITTED this. But they till refuse to explain why they were sending out incorrect invoices after they knew of the problem.
They are now claiming they will advise those affected by text (apparently tomorrow) and correct.
BUT BEWARE. As I understand it, their proposals could be interpreted as putting at risk the strict cashback terms since they vary the billing periods. If affected you might be well advised to reject Orange's proposals and demand:-
1. your billing dates remain the same;
2. the take only the correct amount from your DD;
3. compensation.
the Director responsible (albeit he doesn't seem to some to be very interested) is:-

(Of course some might suggest this overcharging wasn't a mistake...for the avoidance of doubt, on the documentation I have, I am not...yet!)Sarah x0 -
I've just opened my first invoice and have been charged £19.25? I'm confused and worried now, particularly as, like you say, if you question things this may cause further probs. They may create a new invoice that then doesn't count as bill number 1 which could confuse the sending of bill number 6 and 12!!
Not sure why my bill details mention "Vodaphone Anytime Discount" and "Voda Anytime 200", when it is on an orange contract (??) I know they'll probably confuse me more if I phone them, so can anyone explain, at least, the £19.25 instead of £15?0 -
Sounds exactly like my bill (which is okay).
Bill period is slightly over the month (28 April - 2 Jun) which is a few quid more and I'm paying an extra 1.50 for the itemized bill.
I also have the vodaphone thing but I assume this is an Orange deal matcher offer.0 -
I found out mine was OKAY. I checked the discounts and it said £15 off (inc VAT) very pleased

it maybe that those who signed up last minute may be exempt from this problem, regarding the cashback offer i would send you 6th bill off regardless treat the wrong bill as your first !!0

Mine was £36.15!!
But I got it sorted by 50% of that credited to the next bill by orange, and 50% of the next 2 bills also credited by orange, so that should work out :-S And it shouldnt have afffected the cashback deals0 -
Thanks Candlestick. Yeah, that would make sense. Perhaps we should just send EVERY bill back to them each month to cover ourselves completely! Better to be safe than sorry. (I don't really mean do that by the way!)0

i have to say I was most annoyed and when i mentioned how displeased i was with Orange and how I was expecting the low quality of service they gave me a £2 goodwill credit (hardly goodwill) but nevertheless they sorted it out. I have to say Orange has appaling customer service (no idea if its THE worst, fortunately i havent a 3 line).ummm...0

We signed up on the very last day and still got billed incorrectly. Time to phone up Orange I think. Are E2Save still going to credit back the account after the 1st month as I've lost the rules on the cashback ???0

As I said on another thread on the same subject, get the dealer to contact Orange dealer support if Orange CS are unaware. It's a match of a different tariff - OVP Voda 200 by the sound of what most of you are saying; it's just a question of reminding them of the terms. I got this deal elsewhere 4 months ago; same thing happened, and after I discovered Orange CS did not know, one simple phone call resolved it easily.
Contacting an Orange director like this is really trying to use a sledgehammer to crack a nut; I'm not surprised he doesn't seem to be interested. And all that nonsense about changing or not changing the billing period is completely irrelevant; virtually all mobile contracts begin and end with a part of a billing period, and this has no effect on other terms; in fact in my case, I moved the new contract on to an existing account so I had 2 irregularities - change of dates and account number - no effect whatsoever.
Instead of whingeing her about appalling customer services, try negotiating a bit better; it really isn't the mammoth paranoid task that some people are implying. And don't lose the paperwork associated with the cashback!!0
