So I've done no calcs of realistic targets!!!

But I'll update my sig with my 2018 target. I achieved my 2017 target by being made redundant ironically so it will be interesting to see how this year pans out:rotfl:

    Current Mortgage Balance £209900
Target for May 2017 was Somewhere inbetween 2 figures below!!
    19 Year Target Balance MF55= £216, 793
    14 Year Target Balance MF50= £207, 700

Yay I achieved my target and close to the MF at 50 too. I may aswell enjoy this year because next year might not be so joyful:rotfl:

Actually looking at my sig my redundancy has given me a wee boost for next year. I really need to work out some realistic targets to aim for!

    Thanks AFK!!!

I've just signed in to update my sig again because I hadn't taken into account my normal mortgage payment coming off!!!

I really want to focus on breaking the 200k barrier but with no job this will be a lot more tricky!!!!! Where there's a will there's a way!

    2 month plan
    Asda bargains
Use up food in the freezer and cupboards
    No popping to shops
    Cut down on coffee trips
Walk with friends rather than coffee- get fit and save money
Get a job!!!!!! (That should be top of the list but I'm enjoying time with my boys way to much!)

I need to set some new targets!!! Watch this space!

I know you will have just missed the list below off your list, but justin case -

Ebaying (time consuming - but rewarding)
Check bills - savings CAN be made
Bank switching - open up a n other account and get switching (also a phaff - but rewarding) especially if you have 2 accounts :D
Meal Plan - using up your freezer/cupboard stock

I reckon you could get rid of that 900 off the end of your mortgage  doing the above along with your list - no problem - then concentrate on the next figure.

Good Luck and let us know, how you get on. I want to see 000.00 at the end of your mortgage :)
Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's

You're right AFK- you may have given me the boost I need. I need to check out the best deal for heating and electricity. I usually do that in work and find it hard to sit at a computer when I don't have to already!!! I have a pile of stuff for eBay too and I need to just stop being so lazy and get it posted and sold!!!

    Oh no :rotfl:

Okay! I have a folder entitled "selling stuff online" :o so what I can do now is resize some of the photos to facebook/amazon size. And I could really, really really relist some books on Amazon.

It's infectious, I tell you :rotfl: thank you, Firegirl!

Oh KC! It always gives me a giggle- I really think people will read my thread for tips of what not to do:rotfl:

I'll never have a folder! All PayPal money gets transferred to mortgage if it doesn't get spent on kids footy gear first:rotfl:

Signature updated again to £202500.00-so close to the £200000 barrier!!!

I have paid extra in from redundancy paying because today.........drum roll....... I got a new job!!!:j

Down side is the job is very badly paid and is only 2 days a week..........but on this occasion I am choosing my health and my kids over money. My mortgage wont reduce so fast now for the next few years because I won't have as much spare funds! Maybe when the kids get to high school I'll get back into the corporate rat race........but for now I am focusing on my kids (god love them) and keeping myself healthy because I have MS.

I'm really looking forward to my new role!!!

Again another post from me that is showing me delaying being mortgage free!:rotfl::eek:
