Signature updated again to £202500.00-so close to the £200000 barrier!!!

I have paid extra in from redundancy paying because today.........drum roll....... I got a new job!!!:j

Down side is the job is very badly paid and is only 2 days a week..........but on this occasion I am choosing my health and my kids over money. My mortgage wont reduce so fast now for the next few years because I won't have as much spare funds! Maybe when the kids get to high school I'll get back into the corporate rat race........but for now I am focusing on my kids (god love them) and keeping myself healthy because I have MS.

I'm really looking forward to my new role!!!

Again another post from me that is showing me delaying being mortgage free!:rotfl::eek:

Yeah :j a new job. Well done :T And its 2 days more than you had. :D

And you can still do the mse "thing" Just remember the list I posted above :p lots of other ways of saving without that big salary coming in.

Really good news on the job front :T. No point being MF if you're not in a fit state to enjoy it, you're doing the right thing :T.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Oh thanks so much everyone. I've been a bit down that my health has taken a wee nose dive but can honestly say some things happen for a reason and it took a dip right at the point I had to chose between a 5 day a week contract with loads of cash or a 2 day a week job that is low paid.

AFK- I have all my eBay items listed now so fingers crossed they sell! Will know this Sunday! Love you keeping me on track AFK - next stop is to do U switch on utility bills!

Thanks for all the lovely messages!!!!!!!

Anyone else tempted to fix their mortgage for the next 10 years. Some rates of 2.5 around if you have LTV of 60%.:money:

I ponder over this every 6 months and decide no because my rate is 0.49 above base rate.

Also due to current job situation wondering should I take some money from my investments and put it in my mortgage. I know this isn't sensible given my low mortgage rate but I'm feeling a little insecure with my massive salary drop!!!

Other news is I secured a 3 day a week contract for a month! Before tax I will earn £300 a day. So for the month contract it should be £2500 after tax that I'll put straight to the mortgage to offset the fact that I won't be able to overpay as much as I used to. I'm so excited that I'm getting the chance to Contract and I'll still have my 2 days a week when the contract is up. I'm hoping to go there adhoc when they are busy once I'm trained up! See how it all goes next week. Starting 2 jobs!!!

To much stuff to keep me awake at night!:rotfl:

Congratulations on the job. You are right to put your health first. We often don't think too much about it and worry about other things but once you are ill it really does put things into perspective. Good luck.
