Your right about buses GT!!!!
So I've started my 2 jobs this week and I'm really enjoying them both. One terrible pay but good for the soul because I'm helping people in Citizen Advice and the other in a super hipster style digital company. It's so good. Ping pong table, free coffee, free fruit and a brilliant rate of pay that I can use to put to mortgage.
Found out today that I'll get paid weekly so I can make the most of the mortgage over payments as soon as possible! This was my first 5 day week in 10years and I can say I'm actually glad to be back to work rather than hanging about.
Still pondering whether to fix my mortgage for 10 years. I wonder if I can fix a section of it and leave the other at my rate of 0.49 above base. Hard decision! Especially if I get this contract extended I would be delighted up til mid June even! If I got 6 weeks I would have 3750 toward the mortgage for 18 days work! I can't believe it!Mortgage balance Feb 2015 start of MFW Journey-£245316.06/Aim to be mortgage neutral 2022 — Target for May 2024 14 Year Target Balance MF50 = £89,535 — Mortgage Balance £106, 000—Target for May 2024! £89,535

Ok so this years target for May 2018 is def my mortgage free by 50 figure in my signature below, £191 314. I have adjusted to living on very little since being made redundant so I'm just going to carry on living the way I have been since being made redundant. I still haven't actually sat down and worked out figures but the plan is to live on my 2 day a week salary. I need to work out what I can put in the mortgage from my regular salary and all contracting earnings will go to the mortgage. It's really not certain so I can't depend on it. I've agreed with hubby we can put it in the mortgage to get mortgage down encase I'm unable to work in the future. We've also said though that if we want to do anything fun then we can use that too. So watch this space to see if the contracting funds actually end up spent on a holiday:rotfl:Mortgage balance Feb 2015 start of MFW Journey-£245316.06/Aim to be mortgage neutral 2022 — Target for May 2024 14 Year Target Balance MF50 = £89,535 — Mortgage Balance £106, 000—Target for May 2024! £89,535

Ok- so I've amended (reduced) my regular payment to my mortgage will have me mortgage free by 55 but the plan is to pay extra in to knock that down to being mortgage free by 50. Also the hubby has said when he finishes paying a few things off he'll pay more into the mortgage. When I get extra money from contracting then I'll pay that to mortgage. I'm having to live on a lot less than I'm used too so I hope I can still pull off my mortgage free dream!!!
So I'm going to keep my targets from the start of this thread the same. And the ones in my signature. It's just going to be harder to achieve! Wish me luck! It's sort of exciting! This is my last week of contracting!!! No sign of an extension so that'll be me back to 2 days a week! 5 days a week was hard graft. I def couldn't do 5 days a week for a long period! 1 month was actually perfect.
Looking forward to resting up next week and I'm so so so so happy that I got the opportunity to Contract! Very exciting after all these years of thinking about it.Mortgage balance Feb 2015 start of MFW Journey-£245316.06/Aim to be mortgage neutral 2022 — Target for May 2024 14 Year Target Balance MF50 = £89,535 — Mortgage Balance £106, 000—Target for May 2024! £89,535
