Sorry about the redundancy but at least you know now.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Thanks for all your lovely messages!
I'm glad about the redundancy and I'll be even happier when I get a new job lined up!
Thanks for the nationwide tip- I'll have look into that!
Short term goal is to stop buying coffees again- slipped back into the way of that again!
Also stop unnecessary spending. I thought about the silly things I was spending on this week and it's food and kids!
Things I bought that I could do without:
4x coffees
1x toast
1x croissant
2x lunch
2x vending machine drink at swimming
2x mars bars
mcDonalds trip
I think I needed redundancy letter to kick me into action actually!
So next week:
2 days WFH so that's Bus fair saved
Only 1 Mocha allowed this week- hopefully help waistline too
Break after footy marsbar routine
Be organised and remember drinks for swimming
Don't buy kids any football cards!!!
Use food in freezer and buy no food at all
I think these changes will save me at least £20 a week! That's £80 a month- ok I'm back on track!! I'm glad you're glad - I was starting to think I'd misread the situation
Interesting list bought of things you didn't need to buy - thats a brave thing to post, and really does act as a wakeup call, good for you.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

January is a good time to be job hunting - good luck :T.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Gallygirl!! That gave me a good giggle!
So this week has gone well. Weekend we had lunch at home and no coffee and toastie runs after footy and rugby. 7k walk by stepping outside our front door- did rebel and stop for a beer, wine and juice half way. Def cheaper than our usual weekend! Said no to choc fudge cake to our son and explained if we all got something like that it would cost £20. We went to local shop and got a desert for all of us for 20p
First interview with agency went well!! Super excited about starting a new job at some point soon- hopefully! I asked for a high rate and they didn't laugh so see what comes up!
I'm really trying to skip on the small things and hubby is up for being more sensible with money. He was talking about buying a cheap car rather than spending £15k!!! Think he's realising that stuff doesn't bring happiness after our family walk on Sunday. Maybe cause I was talking about spending 15k on a car ( don't worry just dreaming) and he realised he didn't want me spending that much! Not sure- what ever is going on it's a good thing!
eBay success this week too! I think I'm getting back on track!:beer:Mortgage balance Feb 2015 start of MFW Journey-£245316.06/Aim to be mortgage neutral 2022 — Target for May 2024 14 Year Target Balance MF50 = £89,535 — Mortgage Balance £106, 000—Target for May 2024! £89,535

Check out your new £5 notes. Look for misprints and early serial numbers!! Had an interview today! Fingers crossed! I've asked for flexibility to wfh- thought I'd chance my arm! Probably did myself out of a job with that question but let's see what happens!Mortgage balance Feb 2015 start of MFW Journey-£245316.06/Aim to be mortgage neutral 2022 — Target for May 2024 14 Year Target Balance MF50 = £89,535 — Mortgage Balance £106, 000—Target for May 2024! £89,535
