You work from home, claim you are the only one than knows stuff, there is no documentation and they set up a new office with new people too far for you.
You have not been happy training people but have not documented anything.
There has been a serious lack of risk/contingency management
Are they really preparing an office for you to go to have you been and checked?

Have I unwittingly volunteered do you think? I am too soft I know. Thing is I like traing people.
Pfft, I should be working but not motivated today!
I think you may have done. Experience, skills and ability are all commodities which can be bought and sold and so you do not give them away for free.
The difficulty is that perhaps they have gotten so used to you doing it all for free that if you make a protest ,you will be treated like a trouble maker.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -

Or how frequently will their policies allow 10% pay rises? Is there anything you would like instead of pay? Expensive training courses for instance?
I remember reading somewhere (probably a poster confidently stating it on these forums) that companies are no longer permitted to penalise employees for discussing their wages, as this had been found to contribute to women being lower paid.
BIB, did this yesterday - awaiting a response, no, am not a member of a union.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -

Interestingly, I had a call from the friend who had told me about the salary offer she had. She said she was asked what salary she would like and replied that they should make her a sensible offer. So it's not even that she had to do any bargaining at all to get this 10k difference plus bonus offer. Remember, she has no knowledge of our industry either and would have needed training from scratch.
Her current employer offered her far in excess of this amount for her to stay so she is.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
That's why I'm wondering if they were bluffing when they threatened me with HR. I suspect she didn't like being backed into a corner. Already we are 2 people down and customers are not being 'looked after' in a timely manner that they are used to.
I have cancelled holiday and worked later/started earlier to clear some work. This can't continue, I'm not paid enough to defer holiday. Even if a newbie started work now, they wouldn't be up to speed to be able to go solo for months. I don't see why I shouldn't take holiday til then.
But that's going off onto another gripe, my main one being the training of these people and pay.
I think that as where you went wrong with cancelling annual leave as if you had a week off and they know they can't contact you it would be interesting how they would cope and you are entitled to annual leave just like everyone else:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one

Look, you started this topic on Thursday, what have you said to them? I can't believe what some people put up with, someone for example saying they went through 18 months on low pay! Why?
Let's be realistic here, they're not gonna increase your pay. They've no reason to. You need to give them a reason to. You've also already stated you can cope without work for a while. If I was in your position I'd be writing my letter of resignation this weekend and handing it in first thing Monday. If your serious about how vital you are they'll be throwing money at you to stay, although you need to make it clear your leaving for financial reasons. If your overinflating your value they'll likely just let you leave but only you know the true answer to this.
If you sit around doing nothing your poor pay is entirely your own fault. Take charge.0 -

I can't believe what some people put up with, someone for example saying they went through 18 months on low pay! Why?
I was misled by both my first line manager and second line manager that there were so many jobs waiting for re-grading, and that they would eventually be done.
What I found out quite accidentally was that some managers had already accepted that these would be regraded higher and were giving temporary promotions to this grade (with the appropriate pay) as the company was not at that time allowing any permanent promotions. And as soon as my manager knew I was aware of this I was given the temporary promotion.
When I entered the company I was on a low grade but I had been temporarily promoted for a few months, with extra pay, before returning to my original grade. After I was temporarily promoted a second time the company decided to take on extra staff but at the higher grade in a permanent position and I and others had to train them.
It was totally unfair and at that time the unions got involved - there were about 5 of us - and the managers decided they would promote us all at the same time without having to pass an interview.
Years later I went for an interview and gained a further promotion but that was the last opportunity I had for promotion unless I went down the management route and actively managed a team, and I did not want to manage people and all that involved.
But the job I'd been promoted to changed after a while and I went from doing the same work as the rest of the team to being given special projects to do.
I worked for various managers, some in the same site, and sometimes remotely. I did some remote training for people in India, and supplied them with correct training processes (which I had previously devised) as the ones their on site trainers had been given were incorrect. I supported them for a long time, answering daily emails and on messenger.
Eventually I was put on a team of 5 who were all doing individual tasks for the company, as was I, but all the other team members were on the higher grade. My manager then worked from home, and he took no interest in the work I was doing. He could cover the work of 3 of the team, and they could cover each other's work. I could cover the work of the fourth, but she didn't know all the aspects of the work I was doing and although she was supposed to learn how to do it all, she never did.
None of the jobs I did were specific to the grade I was on as they were nearly all newly created ones, with no job descriptions. There were plenty of people on a higher grade than me doing jobs I considered to be a walk in the park.
