I don't think there's much point in discussing the man pays vs going Dutch on a first date, as both camps tend to be firmly entrenched in their belief and won't budge.

That's not the angle I was looking at it from, it was the concept that the male has to prove himself, when after all the lady could be a bag of rubbish, indeed it is nice to be able to treat someone and it is also nice to be treated by someone, it's when it's the expectation that comes into it , after all I know it's not part of the thread, the male pays so expects something at the end of the night?
He reports that she is tidy, and that is good, I do hope it all works out, the cynic in me asks.... if someone is tidy in mind and soul plus seeking a partner, then why are they single?

There will be people who are "tidy" and single because they want to be. She could also be just out of a relationship.

That said I'll no doubt get flack for this, but most long term singles I know that actively go looking for dates tend to be either nutters themselves, are attracted to nutters (normally viewed as fun at first until they actually figure out that person couldn't care less about them), workaholics, or in the case of some of the men having zero confidence which sends women running in the opposite direction no matter how nice they are or what they look like.

This I agree with, hence why she too should impress, it was her friend that set up the blind date I understand, so hopefully they both are suited.

I agree on the 2nd paragraph too, a workaholic career lady is a good catch in my eyes

I cant believe this is still ongoing :rotfl:

I went on the date, it was alright, she is hot, a bit posh, food was good, conversation was good, split the bill, went out to a bar for a drink afterwards, swapped numbers and wished her goodnight. She wants to go out again, so she must like me. Job done. Now i dont want to see this thread again with all the immature bickering over putting out or my mysogyny for disapproving of someone who does and all the petty cheap shots flying around. Its my life, i'll do and say what i want. Que sera sera :D

I hope that cleared everything up. If you want to continue with the picking out minor details to argue over, do so on your own. I'm done with this thread and not replying again.

There is bickering and debating, I'm pleased the date went great, italian cuisine is indeed nice, sounds like she ticks all the boxes (I'm envious) .

Go back and read your OP! You come across as a Grade A !!!!.

So as she 'likes you' all is well and your OP is now redundant.
