If she expects me to pay for the meal then she's in for a nice suprise. 50/50 is my only offer :rotfl:i'll see if it can be changed but i'm not holding my breath.

what a miserable skinflint. I hope she's an absolute cracker - and doesn't like the look of you.

This is a blind date arranged by a mutual friend - why should the man be expected to pay for the woman?
  • This thread is awesome :)

I'd go along OP, what is the worst that can happen? If it all goes horribly wrong at least you will entertain the masses on the MSE forums!

    I wasn't judging, I want a shot!
  • To the OP, I think you should spring for the meal. I mean it's usually just the done thing for the guy to pay. Granted she may only be there for a free meal, but paying is the way to go.

Nobody - least of all me - said expected, please do not invent things. (If you feel the need strongly, you may find a creative writing thread elsewhere on the forum.)
A man might not, but a gentleman would at least offer (and be prepared to if offer accepted).

Miserable? Afraid not buddy ;) skinflint? Its ironic really considering this is a money saving website, so the probability of people on here being skinflints as you describe them, is probably very high.

This thread epitomises the nature of some of the people who operate on this forum board. On no other part of this forum do you see such vitriol aimed towards people who ask for advice. Some people are only here to attack which then prompts the others to join in. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. I for one do not give a !!!! what you bigots think of me because none of you are worth my time :D

    I am not your 'buddy'.
I can say with confidence that posters on MSE are treated pretty much how they come across.
    Bye bye.

By all means have a nice time but sit with your back to the wall.

    Strange. I typed in M a f i a and it came up as a rude word!

Yet you have criticized the OP for standing up for what he believes. Sometimes, I wish the snidy little people would butt out too.

He wasn't standing up for anything, he was saying he thinks anybody who puts out on a first date hasn't got any self respect. I am critical of his attitude that thinks that anybody who has different sexual preferences to him is not worth anything.
