Just started comping - where to set my expectations?

Hey guys,
I just started comping today and have entered about 150 just today. I'm trying to figure out where to set my expectations at, and what kind of time/reward ratio comping realistically has.
In order to be "properly comping" do you need to enter ~100 per day or is that per couple of days/per week?
Is it relatively unusual to go a whole month without a win if you're entering say, 500 a month, or is that pretty much the norm?
I'm not expecting constant big wins but I don't know if I'll be able to stay engaged if I don't have something to show for the 1-2 hours a day it takes to enter that many, even if it's just a couple small-medium things a month!

On our monthly challenge last month we were averaging 1 win for every 1792 comps entered.
Definitely not an easy money making hobby as many seem to think

It's probably best to go into it with the expectation of never winning anything. Then when / if you do win something it's a bonus. I havn't won a proper competition on here this year! (my last proper win was in the Christmas Advents),
I've won a £10 daily Sprinkle win and a Lotto Scratchcard (which wasn't a winning one), I don't count these as "proper" competition wins.0 -
I completely agree...the lower the expectations the better! Bear in mind that a lot of comps will have thousands of entries!
Be sure to look out for local competitions - try your local paper, any local magazines, businesses' Facebook pages and Twitter feeds etc...they tend to have fewer entries which'll up your chance of winning. Good luck!0 -

Absolutely agree! There is no guarantee that you will ever win. Just take it as a hobby and enjoy itThanks to all posters :A0 -
I've won nothing in the space of over a year, definitely not something you can rely on, just do it for fun, and if you win then great.0

Sheeeesh I admire your dedication! I have spent about an hour or two a day today and yesterday entering competitions, I don't think I could do that for a year without a win!
Did you have a big win in the past that keeps you going?0
