Hey, I'm fairly new too - 10 weeks in but so far have won about 10 times, 3 just in this week alone. I don't have a magic formula and can't commit as much time as I would like as I have a family to take care of, I usually enter whilst watching TV in the evening or at odd free moments during the day.

I've had 3 wins with Twitter so far, I set up an account specifically for comping and just spend 5 mins a day going through and looking for #rttowin comps - there are a lot.

I've also won 3 times with the mag dailies / click it competitions but I do find these a little time consuming (there are so many of them) & tedious so they are not my priority.

The rest if my wins were through this site & Prizefinder.co.uk, they are my priority, each day I go through the closing soon comps.

Hope this helps, I'm a newbie too so would love to hear what those that have been comping longer have to say as their knowledge is far greater than mine & I'm still waiting for a 'big win' :)

    Hi,welcome to the board.

Congrats on the wins.Personally I would just stick with one portal for entering comps via.Other's have their uses but just using one to enter via will ensure that you do not dupe an entry.

Naturally I will recommend that the chosen portal is MSE.This seems to be the only answer to me as MSE is the biggest in the UK & has the greatest functionality.Plus member intercation is better on MSE tahn any other portal.

If you want to comp by closing soon there are links in this post:
Quick ways to sort the board eg by end date & New Topic

I often mix my use of the board via a dip in here as well:

    Today's most popular

Or try playing with this one: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=72&pp=200&sort=title&order=desc&daysprune=-1&page=14

A few very quick points - all listed, but worth emphasising.

Comp posts (apart from here obv) are just that - don't add any chat, or words of thanks or anything like that.

Hit the thanks and click the tick. Much easier to see what you've entered that way (plus it's only polite for those :)).

You can comp as they're listed, or you can put them in date order. I prefer the latter, although like to try to keep a day ahead. If you choose to do today all the ones ending 12/01, bear in mind some will have finished during the day, ie they don't all finish at midnight. Not all of them will tell you this, so you may find some of those you've entered are wasted entries - and you'll never know.

    Good luck :D

Not sure where I found it, but here are the links I work from - from my own Word document I use for comping:

    Standard view/200 posts
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...&page=1&pp=200

    End Date/200 per page
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...rune=-1&pp=200

Edit: Ps, you can change the "200" at the end of the url to make it any number you like, I think.

  • I only started comping at the end of October so still very new too!

I read the Newbies guide first and set up my new email, FB TW (and recently Pinterest!!) Accounts first. And then I was off....!!!

I started making my way through the comp threads on the main boards and was surprised how quick and easy it was to enter most online comps - Autofill makes form filling really quick too but always double check the info it puts into the form for you (Hadn't relealised for a while that randomly it would enter my other email address or home phone number!!).

Also, you will need to create accounts with lots of sites (Radio stations, Magazines etc.) before you can enter. This can be time consuming at first but once done saves a lot of time! I would recommend setting up a folder in your email for all your site registrations - They usually send you details of your log in details once registered.

You'll be surprised how quick it all falls into place and in no time you'll have your own system of comping!

Hope this helps and lets us know when you get your first win!! Good Luck!:)
