  • Morning all, well done to al the losers so far this week - starlight that is an AMAZING achievement. I hope you had a great time in the posh hotel.

Lois I got a 0.4kg loss this week, nothing spectacular but if I can do that every week I will be a happy bunny. My super fly digital scales were acting up this morning - registering a weight when i wasn't even on them so I've had to take an average guess at my weight. Fingers crossed I don't have to replace them!

Raphael I know what you mean about chicken getting a bit boring - try the syn free curry sauce on the losing weight thread which is gorgeous. I also like chinese noodle soup - poach the chicken in some stock with some ginger, garlic and soy sauce added to it. Take out the chicken and add a shredded pak choi and an egg noodle cake. Simmer till noodles are down then slice the chicken and throw it back in.

I went to an exhibition yesterday in Sheffield that was just lovely -

fashion and fancy dress - 60 dresses from 6 generations of the Messel family. Some just beautiful things to look at and I was not very MSE at all and spent a large aount of money on the catalogue! One thing that did interest me though . . . many of the dresses belonged to Ann Armstrong-Jones ( mother of Lord Snowdon) and to maintain her size 10 figure she had 2 ribs removed. How insane is that!?!?!?!?

Why would he be sulking about a 5lb loss?

Cos he is bananas! He is hitting himself over the head for not having lost more than 5lbs this week after a really good fun weekend of indulgence the week before. He doesn't seem to realise that most of us would be delighted with a 5lb loss (even after a gain week). He is being a silly sausage today and we need to cheer him up...

Welcome back Suggs haveacuddleaf4.gif(show us your white bits;) :rotfl: )I think you were very brave to go on hols with the extended family, it could bring all sorts of problems; I'm very impressed that you've got straight back into the gym, so despite what the scales tell you this week, please don't worry :kisses3: ...

First week of the diet proper and I have put on 2.5 pounds! The stress has made me do my usual don't eat thing and I pile the pounds on  - something to do with the steroids I guess.

Anyhow! I am planning on losing at least a pound a week for the 5 week challenge! Even better would be 1.5 pounds per week! Wish me luck folks I am going to need it :rotfl:

... dragon I was quite surprised by the gain, it must be very disconcerting for you, but as you were on the steroids before last week would they have affected you in this way? I must admit that I don't know anything about them and would suggest that if you're sure that you followed your diet plan to the letter, that you ask your doctor for advice. At least you're nice and positive about it all and this will certainly help you, I wish you better luck for next weeks weigh in :j ...

Weigh in day is whatever day you choose, Lois posts the chart Wednesday evenings and she collects all the weight loss posts during the course of the week.

Ok - so I decided to post my slideshow. I talked about it a few weeks ago but never did it. Never done a link before so sorry if I didn't do it correctly. Plus I wasn't able to label the pictures (got the programme from Suggs' link).

Anyway, pictures start from August 2006 and diet started January 2007 (after 2nd picture). Last picture taken in June. I only seem to have pictures taken when i am with DD hence her appearance in each one! Thought it might motivate me for next week's weigh-in!

Well eating most of Wales had the result I anticipated ... but only a half pound gain to report to Lois. Must have been all the swimming.

So what I'm trying this week is writing down everything that I eat, and weighing it and noting the calories if it's not 'free' food. I'm trying to do SW but as I threw away the booklets in a fit of pique when I put all the weight and more back on I'm relying on my very unreliable memory.

I'm wondering if it's worth joining SW again just to get the booklets. There's an offer at the moment so it would only be about £10. Bit it's so embaressing to go back as a failure. It would be the same consultant as she does all the groups around here.

    So shall I ....
    a) swallow my pride and go back so as to get the booklets but never go to meetings
    b) trust my failing memory
    c) photocopy from a friend who still has the booklets
    d) none of the above but something much more sensible

Answers please. Marks will be awarded for accuracy, bad spelling and showing initiative.;)

Well done to all the losers! what an inspiration you all are!:T

Efrieze those pictures are wonderful! You look great (and your DD looks pretty good too!!) You must be so pleased when you look at them, what a good idea to have befores and afters. (A principle I frequently apply to meals, sadly)

I agree with that - only problem is that this is the only picture of myself with my daughter before her first birthday cos I didn't want to be in any pictures due to my size. To anyone starting the journey, take the photos now as you will really enjoying noticing the difference later on.

I have some before before before pictures - sadly those are when I was thin before I piled on all this weight. But I will be back there again....
