    Evening all,

Strange sort of a day, done the gym, aches in my hip, must be old age, had it a few days now :( Eaten big bowl of porridge made with water ( I sound like one of the three bears now!) Big plate of salad after gym with some sliced chicken. Skinny latte from Costa as well. As its dietictian day tomorrow, I dont want to eat an evening meal, but I know I should, but I guess a few of us get like this before weighin? Even more so, as its the dietictian for me?

Anyways I happened upon a thread on hotukdeals concerning a voucher booklet at subways, I seem to recall there was a conversation about it this morning, so in the spirit of moneysaving??? :D the thread is HERE

Happy Birthday Victory! Hope the meal was fab.

Skint-catt, how about a SW quiche for lunch? the recipes are on the recipe thread (sorry don't know how to do links) and they are lovely, even though the ingredients sound rather strange when you read them.

Tiredy-custard you will absolutely definitely feel less tired when you weigh less, it just takes less energy to move around when there'e less of you! I don't know/can't remember what sort of eating plan you're following but for me tired == comfort food. So a big baked potato or a bowl of vegetable soup, pureed so it's all smooth and gorgeous ... (sorry, had to break off to wipe drool from chin) is just right. Vegetable soup freezes really well and can be nuked ready in no time.

Long ago when I was a real SW member our consulant told us we could liquidise mac cheese to use a a sauce. Obviously she was wrong not only becasue it is NOT in the rules but also it was one of the most disgusting things I have ever eaten. Wish I had a smilie for vomit.

Ajax, you are a STAR. Thank you for the SW information you sent to me. As well as being a fount of all knowledge and an inspiration to those, like me, climbing back on the wagon.

Well done to all the losers! :T :T fingers crossed that i'll be a loser too when I weigh in tomorrow.
  • Hi guys!

    Hiya :hello:

Macaroni cheese abuse ... it shouldn't be allowed! :D

When I first started SW macaroni cheese was free food, and so was corned beef - I ate both (in moderation) and I lost weight. I know someone who decided to start doing SW again after a long break, she didn't get new books, just used the ones she had from before, and she lost weight.

The point is that it doesn't matter whether you eat a can of baked beans or a can of macaroni cheese, but anyone that liquidizes pasta in cheese sauce and adds it to a multitude of high carb ingredients to make 'free' lasagne and then wonders why they haven't lost weight doesn't deserve any sympathy imo.

I used to break SW rules regarding ready made soup (and still lost weight). If you use the online syns calculator to find the syn value of a can of Heinz special pea and ham soup, it comes up as free on green, however SW have decided that tinned soup cannot be free food, only home made soup is free. I presume that's because people have abused soup - but how much soup can one person eat in a sitting? :rotfl:

Anyway I'll climb down off the soap box now...!

  • Over 2 weeks really as I missed last Monday's weigh in as I went for long weekend to Cornwall.

Quite pleased with myself but still a way to go. SW consultant tonight talked of us losing 1 or 2 lb a week to be sorted and at target for Xmas which was motivating.
She didn't mention tinned tomatoes at all.

Thanks for some great recipes and for making me giggle tonight as I read about all the comings and goings.:T

  • Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had a good day(and you too Ajax)00020075.gif

First things first - Happy Birthday Victory Hope you had a lovely meal out with your OH.

Well done Aussiebird, starlight, hollyh, and dragon for your losses this week.

Katiepc since you already have the medieval gear, did you consider altering it to look like Babs Windsor in Carry on Henry? I bet that would go down well with the men at the party and be relevant to your other interests.

Of course, you could always be Henry VIII - but that wouldn't be as much fun.

Oh, almost forgot. Not drinking on Saturday night was definitely worth it cos I have 1.5lbs off.

I'm still waiting on that cyberhuggle Ajax Or are you sulking? 00020076.gif

I've started being naughty. I used to have such restraint and only weight myself once a week on a tuesday morning but recently i have been weighing myself in the week too. I know it's bad but I have a bee in my bonnet about my scales not being accurate (and somehow weighing myself again and again makes me feel better). Anyway, I am hopeful for a good result tomorrow after an average few weeks. Also, whilst I know that my weight CHANGE is the most important thing - I am aiming for a certain weight and don't like the idea that my scales could be weighing me 5lbs more than most of the other scales I have been near in the last 8 months. What would you guys do in this situation?

Weigh yourself clothed and with shoes on and then go to somewhere like Boots and get a weigh in there and see how they relate!
