Anyone know how I go about closing it? Presumably I need to be able to log-in.....

Further to my post above. I don't know how long the overall exercise of closing takes. Maybe someone who has done it can advise.

However if it is going to take more than 3-4 days then you might want to consider emptying your account to a minimum first so at least the lions share of your money is not delayed and you can use it.

    regards

Thanks Kinghts, looks like they've got me over a barrel for at least a week or two then! In the meantime, I will investigate alternative accounts.

The other point I would make for anyone else considering the Hisave account is that the online banking is not at all user friendly (at least I struggle with it and I'm pretty computer literate ;) ).

I've opened one of these, sent the cheque off and it's all gone ok. Have just logged in and wanted to deposit some money. I fill in all the info and get to the confirm screen. Click ok and I get a message pop up: Invalid Username.

    Eh? Any ideas anyone?

EDIT - Scrap that. I've just tried in IE instead of Firefox and it worked fine.
  • I have just opened a HiSave account and got my user ID but am still waiting for the password, supposedly coming in the post. But after reading all these horor stories I am not at all sure I want to give them any of my money - yet it is a good rate. I'll have to find somewhere else ( I am busy spreading my money around max £35K )

    hi.

how long after receiving the following email should i be getting my login/account details?:
    HiSAVE Application - Cheque confirmation

Thank you for your cheque number 000000 received on 13/02/2008 for 100.

the email states that details will be sent via email once my account is fully opened, but i ahve also read that they send via post.

    thanks.

p.s although the email states "recieved 13/02/2008" which was a wednesday, the cheque was actually paid from my current account 2 days earlier on the 11th.

p.p.s looks like i should have read a few more posts before joining ICICI, not quite sure i will want to transfer large sums into this bank after all.

I got my login ID by e-mail earlier the same day. The password arrived by post 6 days later.

Which posts do you mean fella? I'm just about to transfer a pretty large sum ICICI's way :)

  • I haven't had any problems with ICICI and will continue saving with them. The only minor concern was the time it took ( 7 days ) for my first transfer of funds from my linked acccount to reach ICICI.

Hmmm, I've just opened one too, and had the same experience though my message said 'Invalid User ID' (using IE). Logged out and back in again and it worked OK. This looks to be a worryingly inept website, I'm not sure I dare deposit any real money!!!

It does state on their website that the first transfer of funds may take up to 8 days, but subsequent transfers will take 3-4.

  • Totally useless.
Deposited £500 on the 2 feb, still cant get access on web as they have not sent a password.
Everytime I phone they say they will send another password, 7-10 days.
    Still not here.
My money is coming out if I can ever get in!
