ICICI problems

I could not log on so emailed them and they said that because of a system change my user ID had changed from 10 digits to 9 digits. So anyone with a 10 digit user Id should be aware that they will be unable to log on. This seems a bit cavalier to change people's user ID's without telling them. Unless they sent an email and it went into my spam folder - I get several hundred each day and it's not possible to check them. Does anyone remember getting an email informing them of a change of User ID?0

I've just tried logging in to my account with my 10 digit user ID and have managed to log in no problem. Weird. I'll definitely keep an eye on this though.0 -
I also had the "monthly" transfer mystically becomes a "daily" transfer and starts draining my current account at a manic rate.
I just cancelled it online, called them and got the sort code and set my current account to transfer the money in monthly instead, i shouldn't have had to but i prefer it that way anyway.0 -

Hi All.
Thought I would say my experience with ICICI hi save. Firstly, I have had a problem with sending money from ICICI to my current account, initially it did not take it from my account the day I set it as, I sent an email being quite worried as it was a large amount of money, and a day after the set date it went from my account. Their reply time was appalling, and I rather not phone call centres if I can avoid it.
Also, when I instruct ICICI to take money out of my current account, it takes ages. So, to get money into my ICICI I send it from my current account, and never ask it to fetch from my current account. When I want to send money back, I do an instant transfer from ICICI to my current account, and it disappears from account the next day (arriving in approx 3-4 days). I only ever do these two things, and don't try to do anything fancy.
Since then, I have to say it's been very simple to use, and for me, it's worth it for the high rate (especially as it's gone up to 6.41%).
If you do open an account, try sending and receiving a pound to make sure everything works and you are confident with using it. I use it to save excess income each month, and when a sizeable amount builds up I probably move it off somewhere to invest; although currently I'm looking at the 1yr fix @ 6.75%.
Oh, and they have now signed up to the banking code, which is good!0 -
Unfortunately I can only add to the absolute horror end of the scale.
I tried to open a ICICI HiSave account in August and have encountered two fairly serious problems.
Firstly, I have never yet been able to access my account online (and yes I have used the .co.uk site - well, when I say 'used' I mean 'tried to use'). Initially they provided a password but no login id (or customer reference number) and then when they did provide both, they didn't work - the website saying that they were invalid. ICICI have acknowledged that my ID/password details don't work but they have not solved the problem or sent me any new ID/password details. That's not quite what I would call an instant access account.
Secondly, they recently took £500 out of my linked account without any authorisation or instruction from me. I have reclaimed the money through my current account bank.
These things are totally unacceptable as far as I am concerned and I am closing the account. Don't waste your time with these clowns.
Any MSE recommendations to use this bank should come with a strong health warning.0 -
I have only one problem with these blokes - i tried opening a Term Deposit with them at 6.75% on 18th October, and sure enough, I received a confirmation on the 22nd October, that the deposit had been opened... only to know that the rate had gone up w.e.f. the same date to 6.85%... now isn't that rather mean of them ;-) Have never once had a bad experience with them... touch wood...It's always the grass that suffers, irrespective of whether the elephants are fighting or making love !!!0

I always have problems logging into my hisave account and had to phone them twice today (got cut off first time!). Apparently my user ID has changed but my password doesn't seem to work with it although it should.....they are re-setting my password and sending but this will take 7-10 days and during this time, I can't do anything as I can't get into my account!!!!
The staff are fine and very helpful but the whole outfit just feels a bit second rate.
Anyone know how I go about closing it? Presumably I need to be able to log-in.....0 -
