Oh dear, I suspected that, but it wasn't too clear in your original post.

Feeling like a idiot now! Rookie mistake.
The seller didn't want to use PayPal via eBay as they appearently withhold the money for 21 days.
The seller lives 6+ hours away so a commute was out of the question for me.
The seller is very well spoken, reputable background. I guess all just a con.Can I find out my credit score? You do not have a single credit score or rating. Hopefully Soolin will notice the thread and post.
I say that as she will be able to explain how Ebay / Paypal deal with new sellers with high value goods prone to fraud eg Rolex. They have a tendency to suspend the payment until positive feedback is left by the buyer.
This may explain why the seller wanted Fast Pay and not Paypal.0 -
I expect Barclaycard to reject any claim you might make because you paid via Worldpay... thus removing any link between the credit card company and the seller.
That does not mean you should not make that claim.0 -

I see. It now makes perfect sense. I'm glad I didn't pay via faster payment and hopefully have some protection with Barlcaycard.
Hopefully as you say Soolin sees the thread as well.

Ok thank you. They have disputed the claim on my behalf with the seller. I am just waiting for the relevant documents to come through.
Will I stand any chance claiming under Section 75 as I used Worldpay

Have you asked the seller for the serial number of the Rolex?
I would assume he would have noted it down...
There's a central register where you can check if the number is correct and whether the watch is stolen or the subject of an insurance claim (Lost)0 -
But ebay and paypal are not involved here.
I realise that.
Ebays procedures for new sellers and high risk items are probably why the seller was so keen not to use ebay / paypal as they suspend the money.
I was throwing it out these as ebay experts may be aware of certain scams going around etc0 -

I haven't as of yet. The seller has changed from being very helpful to very abrupt and quite threatening so much so I've blocked his telephone number. Can I find out my credit score? You do not have a single credit score or rating.
