Thanks - the shoulder was already bad before she came back to the flat , this all happened after her escape and chasing a fox 3 weeks post op .. she was doing so well and this was a major step back.

She was with me for the past 2 weeks as we needed to see the vet 3 times but she has gone back to Ewa and will stay there for 6 weeks

  • Glad there doesn't seem to be any structural issues going on GR - I know you'll be missing her like mad but I'm relieved she's where she doesn't need to worry about the stairs .... wishing a speedy recovery

Greetings from Feltham where Zara is practising her Houdini skills - HOW? Hmmmm (and she almost destroyed the brand new, giant crate.. sighhhhh)

    (1) Cortez at the back, Zara in her harness at the front with her lead attached to a concrete pole

Oh dear :( little monkey! ;) where did she go?

I must admit I wondered if the Julius was 'wrigable-outable' when I tried it on Maisie as it looked a bit escape-able from with a lot of determination! :(

(I'm almost relieved she hated it as I'd have hated her to get out of it while we were say walking down the street )

We use this one now http://www.amazon.co.uk/Walk-r-Cise-Nylon-Harness-Large-25mm/dp/B004S6XK4K/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1434210305&sr=8-15&keywords=walk-r-cise escape-proof so far!!

For anyone wanting an escape-proof harness, the very best IMHO is the Ruffwear Webmaster http://www.petmeds.co.uk/RuffWear-Webmaster-Harness-Red-Currant/p/I9062348
This is the best price I've found it at and where I bought mine from. Absolutely brilliant harness, extremely adjustable and widely used by my Sighthound owning friends. The handle on the back means it can be used to assist a dog having mobility issues.

Whilst not so good for those caring for her, it's good to see that Zara is feeling fit enough to go walkabout - just hope she stays put and lets her leg heal properly!!

Not very good to be hones, thanks for asking.

She came home last Thursday night and will be going back to Ewa Sunday night.

She still limps in a funny way on her back legs and her front as well so really baffled as to why the front.

Nothing really changed since we seen the vet last time to be honest.

    :(

Poor Zara :( I expect her front legs are taking more strain as her back legs aren't as strong at the moment. My lurcher is treated by a Canine Massage Therapist and since his recent diagnosis of CDRM, we've upped his treatments to fortnightly to help ease the strain on his shoulders. Once you know that the cruciate repair is stable, it may be worth investigating massage for Zara to help her other joints and/or aches and pains. I found my wonderful Therapist via this website and I've linked to the Veterinary information page, which shows the depth of knowledge they have http://www.k9-massageguild.co.uk/veterinary-information/
It's not suitable for every dog, but having seen the difference it's made to my boy, I certainly think it's worth considering.

I hope your special girl picks up very soon.
