Keep the card not use it, but keep it for the extras e.g. Credit monitoringKeeping the card unused for now, as a backup, but the Credit Reports/ID monitoring is also handy. I've replaced it with a Barclaycard Freedom.0

Keep the card not use it, but keep it for the extras e.g. Credit monitoringMy Amex Platinum card just arrived and that's giving me 1.25% cashback, I've got a Halifax Clarity for travels abroad and I will hang on to my Cap 1 for the credit monitoring but the card's not going to get a lot of use from end of May. Shame as Cap 1 have given me a lot of money over the years."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0

Put it through the shredder, they can have it back! Account CLOSED!Getting rid of mine.
Fed up of their constant fraud checks.
If it was necessary then it would be justified but no other card company does this in my experience so I don't feel it is justified.0 -
Put it through the shredder, they can have it back! Account CLOSED!Going to free up two spaces in my wallet (my Luma card and my supplimentary Luma card from Mrs Sam's account).0

Keep the card but use it much less.I'm certainly keeping mine. My cashback rate has been cut to 0.25%, which is not great but its better than nothing.
I have Santander 123 and Halifax Rewards. I have an M&S card which I stopped using a while ago, but which I will start using again in June to replace Cap 1.
However, I am expecting M&S will drop their cashback as well. They can't afford to give you 0.5% cashback if they are only getting 0.6% handling charge on transactions.
I do think people have been unfairly critical of Cap 1. It was good while it lasted. I've received £480 from them over the last four years, and I think in a year's time 0.25% cashback may well be looking generous. If you want to blame someone, blame the EU, not Cap 1.0 -
Put it through the shredder, they can have it back! Account CLOSED!I voted "put it through the shredder" but in actual fact I will add it to my pile of cancelled credit cards
My spending will switch to Halifax Reward Clarity up to £300, then Barclaycard Amex/Visa (1%/0.5%) for remainder, while those rates last, then who knows.0 -

That's a good point, quite a few times they have blocked my genuine transactions, and I've no idea why, they just seem to do this randomly for no apparent reason.
I recall my card was blocked one day, transactions were failing, I gave them a call confirmed no fraud on the account, transactions were released, the following day, you wouldn't believe it but they were blocking transactions again, I was at a petrol station, and had to phone them, extremely embarrassing, they though a transaction on Amazon didn't seem right, no idea why, but account was released and they gave me £10 credit for the inconvenience. After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!
