Yorkshirelass, that's probably the reason he's a great player. His enthusiasm for the game will hopefully last longer than those who get the monetary reward.
I agree with you both. I didn't even give DS2 money when he got 3 A* in his A levels, he had the pride of getting them and the place at the top uni he wanted. It is so important for kids to do things for the feel good factor.
Morning all
Going to give the kitchen a quick 15 minute rescue and put the WM on then shower and off I go.
LW I hope you and Mr LW are ok sweetie. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Dot hasn't made any mess or broken anything yet today.. this is a good start, she has however been up half the night, refusing to wear clothes so is blue and is shrieking at a pitch that is turning my stomach. The GP is probably a place to start but I feel such a fraud going in and taking a hens-teeth-appointment when she isn't 'ill' she is just beyond tolerable. If I was prone to drinking at home I'd be a raging alcoholic by now!
DD2 has her training day for Primark job.. DS2 has been ear chewed to getting a job.. I've demanded paper copies of CVs for local shops and .doc copies for emailing and online applications.. I'm such a nag.
It rained overnight so waiting for my once again wet washing to dry.. ggrr.. rude sky!!
Chap coming to fix my boiler today.. since they did their re-calibration I cannot turn off the heating.. I turned the boiler off, turned thermostat to 7*C and it is still coming on.. its really strange! I have turned off radiators but the heating is still on using gas just not heating my already hot house!
swigging this cuppa and going to clear the top of the cupboard and OH can watch the monsters. I may do some tidying while I'm up there the bedrooms are devolving into chaos again.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Morning!
I'm WFH and just running a report so having a sneaky 2min
Feels very upside down here, I feel a toots list coming on. There are any number of things that need to be done and I'm not sure where to start (so I've ignored them, lol).
So I might do this while I'm dialled in to this afternoons conference call
Then I can start to prioritise things.
No flying yet but I will empty the DW at lunchtime and put the kids books away - they had some encyclopaedia type books out this morning and I didn't have the heart to tell them to put them away - they were enjoying reading about engines and lungs and all sorts, lolBossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -
Hello everyone, can I join in?
I used to lurk on here a couple of years back, and may have posted a couple of times. I am sinking in mess and disorganisation, and need help! You all seem very supportive and I hope having to post my progress will make me do something. So here goes, I'm starting small. Day off work today.

My boiler is fixed, My heating will turn off!! The diverter valve was stuck in the halfway position.. stupid thing!
DW on
I have 5 baskets of laundry!!!!
Load that was out over night in the rain is dried and will be folded once the beasties have finished eating.
Girly room vacuumed and nice and neat.. they just need to sort their clothes into drawers and it will be perfecto.. I have a 'spare' chest of drawers which may need to find its way to their room for the excess.. not sure where it will fit but they definitely need extra space.
I am sorting towels as they are washed.. I have a few raggy ones my stepdad can have and I will get my nice ones out of the cupboard and will then squeeze more bits of bedding in.
I have cleared 1/4 of my landing.. and vacuumed it.. though the vacuuming is awkward with the bendy bit of pipe, and the spare being AWOL..
My back is KILLING me.. running 30 yards is not advisable.. I am brokkid!!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
