Morning all
I was at my vol job most of yesterday and out with the Old Wives in the evening, so did not achieve a lot otherwise. However, DH has sorted out the first four nights of our holiday, so that is a bit of progress.
Today I want to
- send some emails
- go to SW at 9.15 (If I don't get all the emails sent before 9.00 I might just get weighed and then come home and work)
- get my eyebrows seen to
- pick up DH's watch on the way to...
- ...visit my friend this afternoon
- sort the car insurance (I've done the searches and got it down to well under £200)
- get out in the garden, now that we've had a drop of rain to settle the dust. There was quite a heavy frost overnight again.
That's about all.
Tomorrow my diary is empty so I hope I will be able to crack on with more paperwork. AGM coming up in June, so lots to do and very little time to do it.
Lovely scarf, mrs-mp.
Profit is good, bossy, but missed meetings are not.
Hope everyone has a good day x0 -
Morning, just popping in quickly, need to take DS into school today as he has a cricket match and his coffin sized cricket bag is a struggle on the school bus.
Then I will be a bit late home from work because I have some more audit work to do and a docs appointment.
Our bedroom is sliding into messiness again. Doesnt help that it really needs decorating and a new carpet - but thats a task for another time!
Right, better move. Have a good Tuesday everyone x0 -
Morning
Horribly windy here last night! At least the heavy rain has watered in the new plants.
Getting ready to pack for trip to see DS later in the week. Shattered as did loads of heavy digging over the weekend and yesterday but think it may just have an obvious effect on the weighing scales this am when go to SW- fingers crossed.
Plan today is to:
avoid food and drink before
weigh-in
go for a slightly naughty breakfast with DH after class finishes.
more gardening
packing
emails sort
look at euros prices for holiday and buy if necessary - only need a few
Have a good day everyone. xJuly 16 £95/£200
Nov 16 £0/£200

Morning all
Wm loaded, the stuff that was done overnight hung out.
Quick chat with lovely overload neighbour and gave her a crafting folder that was earmarked for Cs but she does card making and loved it.
Boys pack ups done, and declutterd to school with them
Going round mils early this morning to make a start on cutting back her garden
Need to see fencer asap for a price
Went to a fantastic talk at school last night all about being positive and encouraging your children, such a shame that hardly anyone turns up to it! It was free open to all parents and packed full of great Ideas but only 12 people turned up, the speaker Andy Cope, (he runs the art of brilliance and is doing a PhD on the effect of happiness and positivity, also the author of the spy dogs books) spends a couple of days a year with the students getting them all fired up and motivated and does an evening for the parents to talk about what he's done with the kids during the day sessions. The talk was again brilliant and you can pass it on to other areas of life so well as education. We really enjoy going. He writes the art of being brilliant books and is a great speaker. Some of the advice is so simple like the first 4 minute rule. I've when you come home from work or your kids come in from school spend 4 mins being the best parent you can be, talk about their day what was great what they learned etc, after that way will go off happy you are interested and you can get on with what you normally do. A hug should last 7 seconds to mean anything( but he did stress the importance of not counting out loud while you are doing it);)
Praise effort rather than skill if you praise for effort and the child has a set back they will carry on and try harder but if you praise skill and a child has a set back they are more likely to give up. By the same reasoning he said never be tempted to give rewards for good results as you are basically saying to your child that you acknowledge that education is too much effort so they need to be bribed to try and please you rather than doing it for themselves.
If he ever comes to your children's school try and go it is really worthwhile he doesn't perch he makes if fun and easy. The hard bit from previous years is keeping it up.SPC~12 ot 124

Mrs MP glad you enjoyed the talk, such things are adly always poorly attended (often not helped by the time they are held but there is no ideal time either).
One ginger kitten has caught its first ever mouse, he is so proud and has been parading it around the house growling for 45 minutes so far.
Been asked to do a bit at the paid stuff later, stupidly said yes.
DW and WM on
Box of toiletries sorted
Shelf in bedroom hoovered, dusted and stuff rearranged with bottom of wardrobe to 'make more sense'
Going to sort a suitcase of stuff under our bed and then the bookcase in our bedroom before hitting the shower and the town.
Finance meeting tonight so need to look at the paper for that, after paid stuff I think. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
DW on
laundry folded ready to go away
table cleared
composting out
worksurfaces cleared and wiped..

All done apart from bookcae as decided to drag everything out and hoover under the bed. Bag of stuff for the bin, another load for charity/rag bag etc. Pile on the landing to sort with the boys. new rule, anything they want to keep is kept in their room, not under my bed. Not much of it though.
Just having an early lunch then off to town.
DS3's cricket cancelled for tomorrow he will not be happy at all, still his new cricket jumper and cap are ready for collection. Think he will mainly be playing men's this year at that rate. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Done two hours of cutting back at mils, have got back to the boundary and made the biggest pile of stuff! I think it will take months to feed it into the garden waste collection. Just need to get fencer round now. It is not helped by the fact neighbours on both sides have used the bottom of their gardens as rubbish storage so now I've cleared the overgrowth you can see behind garage and shed and there's a couple of foot gap filled with all manner of carp. I'm going to see if the fence can be along the bottom and a panel down each side. I think she wants the bit behind the garage (sun trap) reslabbing so she can have a summerhouse or pergola up there. So that is going to be my ongoing gardening project between work, flying and kondoing.
Grabbing a cuppa then going to have a quick shower and head for work.SPC~12 ot 124
