Could you describe your partner's job?

  • Yep - she's got a pretty clear job description and she talks about her job.

I doubt my wife could tell someone what my job title is, let alone what I do. She just sees me sitting around the house on a computer, on phone calls and the occasional business trip

I know what my OH does as 1) I met him when I worked with him and 2) it's not really a difficult thing to describe.

I know his job title, salary and shift patterns.

He knows what my job title is, my salary and my hours. What he thinks I do and what I actually do are two different things :rotfl:

    He is slowly learning.

Yes I can describe what my husband does for a job. He is an electronics engineer for a multi national company and installs, fixes and services medical x-ray equipment, ct and mri scanners and nuclear medicine machines.

I organise maths events for students and teachers in a University and he knows what I do as I probably talk too much about it when I come home ;)

This is a running joke with us. I have no idea. None. Everytime I attempt to explain it I get it wrong...

    No idea.

Yes I could describe roughly what he does but I like to be deliberately vague! Too many people (in my experience anyway) ask because they want to suss out how well off you are, not because they really care.

MY OH has had various jobs within his company (water utility) but at the moment he is working as a 'leakage inspector'. go on, ask me anything you like about 12 inch mains, water pressure, water quality - I am sure I would have the answer as a lot of his work is done while at home, advising others about the above - and I have absorbed all the information!
