    Good Morning,

    £10 Tesco Gift Card – Mighty Deals Official Response

    We recently emailed some customers to say they had un-subscribed from Mighty Deals after they purchased our £10 Tesco Gift Card offer for £5. We made a mistake and would like to apologise. some customers were unsubscribed in error.

    We have experienced a large number of duplicate accounts being made to purchase multiple Tesco Gift Cards. In amongst these duplicate accounts, some accounts was unsubscribed in error. We sold over 16,000 Tesco £10 for £5 Gift Cards, over 11,000 customers will receive their redemption link on May 15th as confirmed in our deal terms. Over 4,500 duplicate accounts were created to purchase more than one per customer, or two per household.

    Accounts unsubscribed in error have been reinstated with immediate effect and these customers will still receive your Tesco £10 for £5 Gift Card redemption link on May 15th. No further action is required.

    Again, please do accept our apologies for any confusion we have caused. It has always been in our best interest to offer our 50% off the High Street deals to genuine customers.

    I did not open multiple accounts nor purchase more than one deal. My deal has not yet been reinstated.

    'Liam' must have sore fingers with all the emails he is sending.

    I challenged the situation via their ticket system, via Paypal and via Top Cashback yesterday and just received an email from Liam saying my Ticket was now closed as the matter was resolved.

    The resolution? That they believe I unsubscribed on the 22/4, so my purchase remains cancelled and I will be refunded.

    I may or may not have unsubscribed from receiving Deal emails, but that is entirely different from ceasing to be a customer.

    I have asked what exactly am I supposed to have unsubscribed from, as their communications are unclear on this, and challenged their decision again, quoting their own T & C's which allow customers to opt out of receiving Deals emails.

    None of the hassle is worth it for a £10 Tesco voucher, but it is worth it on a point of principle and in the hope that such matters do not affect future customers of this and similar sites (and perhaps for the sake of future MSE members being alerted to the potential need to think very carefully before purchasing through certain sites).

    No I hadn't done anything I was waiting to see if my refund went through first and would have complained afterwards, however I got the "apology" email reinstating my order this morning. My original email was one of the "you haven't opened any of our emails" one rather than the duplicate account/unsubscribed ones.

    Mine was reinstated and received the same e-mail as everyone else. Will wait and see if the voucher arrives, and I'm able to spend it.
