Desperate Advice Needed on Puppy Purchase.

In post 1 your saying you have found a litter of pups blah blab blah and in post 3 you seem to be passing the buck onto your family as if this is their fault and not yours. why on earth did you not find a pup closer to home and go visit it prior to purchase? how did you choose this particular pup? did you select it from a photo, you may well have the runt of the litter, did these pups have vacinations prior to leaving home, how was it delivered to you? was it running loose in the delivery persons car it may well have chewed on some car part and have an upset belly.
now as for what you can do, if i was the puppy breeder i would also ignore you, people like this are not interested in taking the pup back or returning your money. most breeders provide the first month pet insurance at the time of purchase it really does look like you did notask all the relevant questions0 -
I don't think it's helpful telling the OP everything she has done wrong. Where does she go from here?
Our pup came a fair distance and was a bit sick when we first got him. I think it is the stress of new home and new family. The fact that your dog is bright is good news. Hopefully, the runs will clear up with a gentle diet and, who knows, you may end up with a lovely dog. However, having a dog isn't cheap, if you treat it properly, and you need to make some provision for jabs every year. At least you have organised insurance.
Our dog turned out well and I hope yours does, too.Je suis sabot...0 -
Thank you Hoof Hearted.
Despite what a lot of people have spat at me, I know I haven't done the wrong thing in getting our pup AWAY from a bad person and a awful situation!
I have also taken him back to the vets (saw a different vet this time, much more thorough to be fair) this evening, he has to remain on Chicken & Rice (Royal Canin cans!!) for 5 days! If he shows no improvement he will have to be sedated and x-rayed to see if there is anything there.
I have since spoken to Consumer Direct AND I can claim the vet fees back from the person who bred, if she can't show he was vet checked previous to leaving!0 -

Oh come on - now you want to turn yourself into a doggie saviour? Swooping in to save a poorly pup?
If people like you didn't give money to these animal abusers then they wouldn't be in business.
YOU are part of the problem - you have funded another litter from a poor b1tch probably absolutely exhausted and with nothing to look forward to but misery.
Don't even try to spin this into anything good.0 -
I find myself in agreement with Transformers. A successful sale of a litter will just mean the poor mother dog is forced into another breeding , you haven't saved a dog, you have perpetuated the cycle.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. How exactly are you going to get the breeder to pay the fees when you earlier stated that they were ignoring you?Thank you Hoof Hearted.

I will be requesting that we bring him back to you and receiving our £400 backI know I haven't done the wrong thing in getting our pup AWAY from a bad person and a awful situation!
So you don't want to return the puppy to this 'bad person' and 'awful situation' after all? So you're asking our advice on how to keep things exactly as they are?0 -
Thank you Hoof Hearted.

It's a pity that you weren't so concerned with the dog's welfare in your first post:
simply wanting to return it back to the "bad person and awful situation"Can anyone tell me where I stand here and are we within our rights to take pup back and get our money back?0 -
When we went to see our pooch I was unsure as to how we would manage things and the breeder told me to go away and think about it - she would keep him for 24 hrs for us to think about it.
Personally I can't see what the OP's family were thinking when they (?) decided to get the pup - taking your mind off going bankrupt wouldn't include buying something that will cost money if only for food and regular injections.
tbh I really don't know what the solution to this is..........I just pity the poor pup.0 -
They're not even straight-backed. Look at the state of those back legs!!

And no photos of parents either!!0
