Just back from my :j £350 HotUKDeal to NZ :D

We flew Thai Airways from LHR to BKK, then on to AKL. No jetlag at all on the way there.

Time of my life visiting relatives in Auckland, Welly, & Picton!

What a bargain! Sounds like a great trip.
"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."
  • Off to NYC in a couple if weeks:)

Less than two weeks till a villa in El Gouna Egypt. Counting down the days and looking forward to feeling the hot Sun on my face once again.

Hope no naughty terrorists spoil this years trip and the airport staff have finally got over playing candy crush.

Good news! No bombs on planes to spoil this years trip.

I prefer Sharm to El Ghouna. It was cold at night and windy 24/7. Villa was nice but pool was rubbish, sea was freezing. However, the Egyptian Pound was devalued while we were there effectively making everything half price- bonus. Looks like we may go again next year.

One of our party caught the ferry over to Sharm for the day and there were a few on the plane doing the same.

Hurgada airport was a pleasure compared to Sharm and just like any other international - so not a terrorist shambles.

Looks like I will be booking 2x 2 weeks in Turkey any day, June and September leaving me a week in march and November to play with.

What's Samui like these days? I used to love it about 10 years ago when you could get a beach bungalow for next to nothing. On my last visit 2 years ago I was disappointed about how developed it had become, especially in Chaweng where they were building a shopping mall and cinema.

Nothing booked for me at the moment. I used to like going away for a few days of sunshine over Xmas/New Year but the prices are getting silly so I now typically do a long weekend in February when it is much cheaper.

Samui is a very built up with lots of hotels scattered all over, we Stayed at the Kanda Residences http://kandaresidences.com/ which were very nice and exactly what we were after as we wanted something a bit remote so we would get peace and quite in our resort.

Chaweng was very Busy, Lamai and Bo Phut were quieter but still busy
