Please can you share who you went with? I'd really like to do this on a solo holiday. Did you take underwater pix, I;d love to see?

I have a phobia of sharks and always have to psych myself up with snorkelling, so I want to overcome this fear and dive!

No Pics I am afraid, but I have just bought a cheap version of the Go pro to take with me next time, is waterproof up to 30m deep, which is max I can go to.

It was great, I didnt book a package to do it, I booked Easyjet flights, The dive centre and did my theory online via Padi, which meant that I did all my dives in 4 days and passed it no issues. The online theory is a bit of a pain, you have to go through 5 sections each one over an hour long and then do an exam after each one. You then do a final exam and then do your dives. One of the girls I talked to whilst over there, was american, but now livers in Algiers. She did the theory at the Dive centre and I think she said she did it over 2 days.

I booked the apartment via holiday lettings and couldnt have asked for a better position. It was literally 100 yds away from the dive centre, so up at 8am, coffee and a smoke, to the centre, kit up, out on the sea at 9.30 and 2 dives later back at around 1 pm, then the day is your own. The apartment had a poor rating on TA, but I thought it was fine just for me. It had everything you could need, but was a bit old and tatty inplaces, but the bed was great and the rainfall shower was to die for ! lol. It was a 20 minute walk into the resort centre, but was peaceful at the apartment, only sound was the bells clinking on the £1m yachts harboured in the marina where you are situated.

I did not see 1 shark, but did see a fleeting glimpse of a dolphin and a huge Tuna was seen the previous week. They dont really have sharks around Mallorca.

Links with videos are as below.

Honestly, if I can do it, anyone can. For me, it has been a life changing experience, one which I am not going to let go of.

......a chat about securing the 2 weeks? Did you go somewhere new in Spain or returned to somewhere old? You beat the school holidays, perfect timing!

Yes, the next few months are going to be busy so I need to sit down and work out the best time to take 2 weeks.

Since I don't have kids, I can get away when it is cheap - but it also means I have to hold down down the fort while everyone else is taking time off over the school holidays.

I had a few days exploring the area around Malaga. It's an area I know quite well but there are always new places to find away from the tourist masses. The advantage of going there is there there are always loads of cheap flights and accommodation is plentiful but it can get a little too hot for my tastes. When it hits 40C in the shade you just have to find somewhere that has cold beer and air conditioning...

So to follow on from my last post PAGES ago lol!!

I now have my Indian visa, insurance and Flight booked to Mumbai to start my around the world travels number 2, I leave the 30th August hasn't really sunk in yet, but as it gets closer and the more stuff I have to sort (move out of my rented room and try and get everything back into my box room at my parents) it might slowly kick in!!!
Thanks to money saving tips and debt repayments/becoming debt free I have been able to work and travel for the last 4 years visiting 12 countries and working within 3 of them. Currently living and working in Canada

Just planning 2 weeks on the east coast myself for October. I've been to Boston and NYC several times but this time I'm looking at DC, Philly and maybe some time in the Carolinas. Really need to make a decision in the next few days.
