I'm doing a cheap weekend in Spain in early July and I'm stating to plan 2 weeks in SE Asia for October. Might try to get away for a few days somewhere warm-ish over Christmas or New Year.0 -

Off on a Greek island cruise departing from Venice next Saturday with NCL
Then 10 nights in Vegas in septemberThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
After a brilliant holiday in Cyprus at easter,we said that's it for another year. But the holiday blues go the better of us. We are now off to playa blanca in 5 weeks time0

I wasn't that impressed with Bali. It's fine but there are better beaches to be had elsewhere in Indonesia. I was only passing through and it was the rainy season so perhaps it didn't look its best but I prefered Lombok and definitely the Gili Islands.0 -

Sanur is v.pleasant beach resort, and not far from Denpasar Airport.
Far less in your face than resorts like Kuta and Legian, both of which are awful places [imo]. And they're clogged with 2 and 4 strokes.
It's once you get inland to places like Ubud. that Bali really opens up. Even Ubud has too much traffic during the day, but escape the main roads and it's a beautiful place.0 -
Oh yes I absolutely loved Sanur! Not that I'm complaining about Ubud. If they got the kids off the bikes there'd be a lot less traffic eh Pete?
Now I'm back from Bali, I have to start searching for another holidayAm thinking NZ (but worry the flight will kill me) to see family, Malaysia, but what area? Or Vietnam?
