The secret is to retire early. I ditched my suits and ties a month before I was 50.:)

Well I'll be 50 in 6 years so that's a target for me but given the way my pension fund has taken a battering over the last few weeks, retirement is looking a long time off...

    Google is my friend!

Well I'm very annoyed with myself.....I should've bought the air tickets in the BA sale for Easter when I first saw them for circa £2300 for all 3 of us in Business class from DUB:mad:, today they had gone up by £2K!!! Someone kick me VERY VERY HARD:mad::mad:! I could've saved that £2k towards something! Soooo annoyed!

So as the sale is still on, and to avoid repeating the above mistake I have now also booked our flights for the 6 weeks "USA - East Coast to West Coast". Sorted! At least those were within budget! :j:beer:

Now the hunt continues for flights to SA for Christmas TAKE 2 (I failed to get decent priced flights last year).

I will now shop around for good hotel deals for Easter and Summer!

It's near impossible to get bargain flights to SA at Christmas.

My daughter and I are off to Sweden in the February half term. She doesn't remember any other flights, she thinks we're going to see the shape of the UK like you would in a shuttle.

Mauritius in June, staying at Belle Mare which apparently is perfect for snorkelling which I love. 1st time, possibly last but I am looking forward to it very much.

Hopefully sneak in a late deal for a week somewhere in early March too.

Just looked at Belle Mare on TA and it has 100% positive reviews and looks FAB! Which part of the UK are you flying from and how long is your flight?

Well, it's warmer and cheaper than here and there's no significant time difference.

I'm currently watching the cricket from South Africa and it looks very pleasant indeed.

I think it's just too popular.
We paid £5000 for 2 business class flights but I wouldn't do it again.
Much better places to go IMO

I did look at a few days in Vilnius this week and it's very cheap. Then I saw that the high temperature at the moment is around -8c. That explains the cheapness of the trip anyway.

Vilnus is definitely on my wish list -cost of living looks really reasonable but I think I'll wait til summer too :)
