Just got off the phone with SSE and been told they have updated their T&C so no longer can take over a Sky line? its a MPS line which they cant transfer. Spoke with BT who said they could help me and transfer me over.?? feel like i'm a prisoner to sky...... doesn't feel right...
update
they will take sky again at some point... they have massive backlogs due to the deal and can swap BT customers over quicker so are not taking sky or talk talk over.. have been added to a customer list to contact when they can do it.... really bad timing as there are a lot of Sky customers coming to then end of the MSE 12 month deal...0 -
Really annoyed, I called up as well this morning, the response I got was that they were so busy that only BT customers can get this deal now, I explained that my line was bt openreach but she said their was nothing that they can do. My sky deal expires on the 20th Aug and want to swap over to SSE as it is the best deal about.:mad::mad:
What can we do?0 -
I am/was a Sky customer, I called up on 8th July. I got through and BB due to be set up later this month. I even got confirmation from Sky about this switch. I must be the lucky last few people then. Will report back when I get setup hope not to have many issues.0

Interesting, I am with Sky and they told me Sky had changed the type of my line and couldn't switch to SSE. Now wondering if it was an excuseWhat goes around comes around.....I hope!0

I would say stay away from SSE. The price is great, but during peak times you will get far lower speeds due to congestion. I have carried out many tests and it clearly shows that congestion is the issue as speeds plunge to sub dial up speeds some nights
SSE's answer? Send a new router and try to fob me off
Too many subscribers, not enough bandwidth = extremely poor service.0 -

They're well aware of the problems now after all the complaints, and it's now restricted to existing SSE customers only:
"Exclusive offer for existing SSE energy customers: 18 months FREE unlimited fibre broadband with Talk Anytime phone packages starting at just £21 a month"0 -
existing energy customers.
So there will still be some people with a surprise0 -
Please help...
BT speedtest indicating I am getting maximum 38mbps speeds
when i go and do any other test... it shows variation between 3mbps and 11mbps.0 -
Congestion starts for me about 10am now and continues to past 11pm. Make a complaint and ask for your login details so that you can run Tap3 tests on the BTOR speedtest site.0
