I will try the whisky - does anyone know whether you add it right at the end or earlier to let the alcohol boil off?
When I did it I stirred it in after it was made & just before bottling, but as I said it never really tasted of whisky and certainly was not boozy
I had searhed high & low on what method but never found any guidance at all, hope you do betterEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
I get mine at Morrisons, they quite often have it on BOGOF, and I always put a glug of whisky in at the end, just before potting up. I give most of it away. The sheltered housing scheme where my mum lives like to sell it at their coffee mornings to raise funds for their trips and stuff. It always goes well and I get lots of compliments and asked what my 'secret ingredient' is!Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

MaMade is available in the Co-Op too.
Whichever supermarket you're looking in, scan the bottom shelves, near the jams and marmalades. As always the cheapest option is in the "most difficult to see" place!"Then, when every last cent

I have just called in at tesco - they had two types of Ma Made, orange and lemon - I have bought one of each (only £1.15 each, and each can apparently makes 6lbs of marmalade, so pretty cheap marmalade!)
I am going to add a glug of whisky and a little treacle to the orange one to make a posh orange marmalade, and make the lemon one as it is (no additions).
If that works out I think I am going to make some apricot conserve too...0 -
I found out about Ma Made from this forum and love it! I only need to make it about once a year and I make the orange and lemon. I keep looking for it on bogof in Morrisons but haven't seen it yet. I think I will make some for Christmas presents with the whiskey in it. The lemon one is my favourite, and the kids will eat that one too. They are both nicer than any of the shop bought ones IMO.Jane
