I bought some in Waitrose a few months back. Not tried it yet, but others who have rave about it.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0

thanks - at least I know it still exists, i was beginning to wonder as I dont think I have seen any for years - unfortunately there isnt a waitrose near us though!
Do you have any idea how much it cost?0 -
I got some in my local tesco (850g) for £1.15
Pink0 -
I buy it from Tesco too, it is next to the jars of marmalade. I only use it when our supplies of homemade run out and it is very good. As you say it is just prepared Seville oranges -much less work than whole oranges and probaly not much more expensive.0

You might be right there as I seem to recall that the Sevilles were sssoooooo expensive earlier this year.
Also, Sevilles are only available for a short time in Feb/Mar so you're forced to make marmalade only then - unless you use Mamade.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
Asda had it in stock this week. I looked at it and thought, what do you do with marmalade in a can? Do people decant it into jars? Now I know its for MAKING into marmalade!0

Also available in Morrisons
I use it often, you will need jars & jam funnel, plus sugar
It is a doddle to make and worth while for taste and quality compared to the usual ready mades
I tried whisky in it once, about a teaspoon mixed in per jar but to be honest it never really tasted of it, maybe I should have used more, hicEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
thats lovely, thanks,I will call into tesco and get some!
I will try the whisky - does anyone know whether you add it right at the end or earlier to let the alcohol boil off?0 -
I always make Mamade (due to do another batch soon). DH only one in the house who likes marmalade. He tells me that it is very good. One year I did the full marmalade orange bit and it was such a faff and DH didn't reckon it tasted any better than the usual stuff. Usually buy from any of the main chains. One 'boiling' makes enough for about a year.
Never done the whisky bit so can't advise on that one.
Good luck.
