Yeah we spent a year in Campello years ago and have holidayed in the Torrevieja region a few times. We are not bothered about being directly on a beach but within a few kilometres of on for when Grandchildren etc visit.I do agree that now seems to be the time to buy

    I like Campello

That is the beach we tend to go to , still has a very Spanish feel to it
and a great promenade to walk along .

Yes in the 12 years I have been here , have never seen prices so low !

How comes you dont want to move back to Campello , in my opinion seems nicer than Torrevieja ?

    Cheers Tony

11months of the year Campello is the best place on earth. For the month of August it turns into a 24 hour a day city. A lot of Madrid people own holiday homes there and they come down for the month of August. It is obviously good for the business owners etc but not so good if you like a quiet life.A lot of small places further south are quiet all year round so that's why we decided to buy there.

    I see

I guess because we only really visit Campello for the beach , dont know what its like to live there !

I know it dose get busy at the hight of summer , some times its a nightmare to park near the sea front

Any way good luck hope you find a nice place when your over !

  • Interesting that you say no one ever gave you anything. If you were brought up in England then the government and society did provide something, ie, mothers received a childrens' allowance in my day and a free basic education and of course, national health service, innoculations, eye examination and dental treatment. As far as I am aware this is still the case.

You say life is short - as though life is desperate, but in my view 80+ years is a fair average these days.

Thanks for the info. We are looking between Punta Prima and La Zenia.

If I remember rightly there's a Punta Prima in Menorca too? Except the one in Menorca is a dump where the mozzies eat you through your clothes and the wild cats look rabid :o.

I remember getting warm milk in the infant school !

I also seem to remember paying taxes and Ni for the things you are talking about , in fact probably paid for other peoples welfare as well as mine !!

Look I do not force any one to live any where , you live where you want and I will live where I want

Thats the great thing of being free !!

But if any one is interested in Spain I can share my experiences

I just enjoy my life day to day and am thankful for what I have !!

    Cheers Tony:)

Bah, I think Menorca is just too quiet for me. Anyway, the important thing is we beat the Germans at football on the beach and the booze was cheap.

To be fair, the beach itself was nice enough; it was the hotel that was dodgy :)

    Not all bad then !

Have you tried Benidorm ? its nominally buzzing in the Summer
plus booze is cheap and plenty of Uk style food and pubs etc.

We quite often visit , and spend the odd night in an all inclusive hotel and have a booze up

I compare it to visiting Southend sea front when we lived in London , except no amusement arcades

    Cheers Tony
