I was referring to the possibility that the OP's husband may have held a CPP insurance as well as PPI on this credit card, see the article on MSE about complaints prior 20050

The question is whether the Bank will be reconsidering the complaint as part of the Review demanded by the regulator and the answer is that they will not be reviewing any cases already rejected by FOS.Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?0 -
So why look at it again in the first place?Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?0

My case was rejected by the bank and Ombudsman in 2011,yet is now being reviewed by the bank after the fine and shake-up.
I can't see the Bank overturning an Ombudsman's decision. You wrote to them asking if you case would be "reviewed" and they answered that all cases would be looked at. If the Ombudsman ruled in your case, then your original rejection will doubtless stand.
Happy to be proved wrong on this..but I wouldn't get your hopes up..So why look at it again in the first place?
In your earlier posts here, you make no mention of the Ombudsman.0 -
As I said, do you really think the Bank will overturn an Ombudsman's decision? You wrote to them asking if your case would be looked at, they've simply repaid in the affirmative.
The problem with complaint handling and banks is the inconsistency that occurs. So you can never say never. However, my understanding is that they are looking at past rejections that did not end up with the FOS being involved and cases that may not have received enough redress. It is entirely possible that some that were referred to the FOS get caught under the review by accident rather than intention.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I am not sure what is going on at the Clydesdale bank either? We received a letter in November 2015 saying that they were re looking at my husbands claim for ppi on his credit card that was sent to the ombudsman in 2011 as the bank said his claim was a no. The ombudsman ruled in November 2011 with the bank. So we thought they were looking at this again, no they came back with money from other loans etc that obviously we had missed, and then in the letter it goes onto say they aren't looking at the credit card case as its a closed claim.
However my husband called them yesterday to query this and they told him that the letter was incorrect and they will be reopening his claim to be looked at , this being the one that the ombudsman upheld in their favour. I am going to get my husband to phone in a few days to maybe query this as something not right going on here, letter says one thing but staff saying another.0 -
Same as other person on this thread his claim being relooked at as well and it went to ombudsman , so not sure whats going on but maybe they are looking at everything, I will get my husband to phone them again on Monday and maybe get him to let me speak to them to see what is going on .0

I'd ask them for written confirmation that your Ombudsman complaint is being reviewed if I were you...0 -
Not hearing anyone getting any refunds - this is a very slow procedure, however I thought any refunds were to be used by September this year which is highly unlikely at this rate. anyone heard anything recently?0

You have already contacted the Bank several times and there really isn't anything you can do to hurry them upIcontacted the bank and all they tell you is that it will take upto 18 months -0
