Have you anything back from them yet? my husbands claim is getting relooked at after the ombudsman ruling in Clydesdale Banks favour I think late 2013, Out of the blue in November they contacted him to say his claim with be reassessed, we got letter on 3 December saying they would let him know within 56 days, a few days short of this a letter saying they give him a final outcome by 29 February, but I do know they are one of the worst banks dragging it out with these claims.
Not heard anything back yet from them,as you say they're not the quickest...Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?0 -
Missed a call at work today on my mobile, couldnt answer due to the nature of my work.
Called the number back which stated I was called by CB or Yorkshire Bank and there was no need to call as they would be in touch again if they needed to.
Think this may be a response to my letter-I hope-unless its just a courtesy callQuis custodiet ipsos custodes?0 -
Hey I vaguely remember the Clydesdale calling my husband about one of his claims this was about 4 years ago, they just called to ask a few security questions then asked how he would like to be paid his money, not sure if this is procedure now though. He is still waiting his final response which is supposed to be due by 29 February. The number that you got a call from was it a 0800 one by chance?0

Yeah 08006783477.
Haven't heard anything today so may well have been my local branch making a courtesy call. Will keep an eye on my post over the next few days.Any update will post hereQuis custodiet ipsos custodes?0 -
Turns out it is regarding my PPI claim, but unfortunately missed the call again today.Missus took some details and a direct line to call but no-one in now.Need to try tomorrow on my day off.
Update-got through to one of the case handlers, just an update to let me know they had received my letter requesting an update, and that the case would be looked at in due course. If there is any change in the decision made at the time that's when they will contact me,if no change in their decision I won't hear from them.
That last part puzzles me though, how do I know when to escalate to the FOS?Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?0 -

If there is no change in the decision, you do not get access to the FOS. The original 6 month period applies. You dont get a new period. Ironically, if they change their decision, you do get a new 6 month period to refer to the FOS.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Well my husband got his letter from Clydesdale bank regarding his ppi today they have looked back at previous loans going back over the years and have agreed that ppi was all mis-sold. However the reason why they contacted him in the first place was to look at his claim regarding ppi on his credit card as the bank originally said that he wasn't mis-sold this and his case went to the FOS and they agreed with the bank, and on the letter he got today it say it was decided first time that you weren't mis-sold on your credit card so we didn't open this case again. Not sure if this is correct or not.0

If that is what it says then it is likely to be correct. The review, as I understand it is only on cases that were rejected and not referred to the FOS. If the FOS have ruled the sale suitable, then there is no need to review those cases.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
