Prior to this it was always auto matic after doing the return.
hope that helps.
They have to verify the bank account you have requested to be paid into matches the bank account for the person who the tax is been paid back to.
Its verification.
This is the first time I've ever had to request a repayment after id submitted my return and I've been doing my own for about 14 years it usually takes 2 weeks max till its in my bank (then 2 days till I'm skint again lol) what annoys me is I've also used the same bank account for that time too so why they have to 'security check' it now is beyond me, or maybe I'm just jealous of those that have been paid lol0 -
The date showing you card is not allow0

Dont see why it should matter checking that the account belongs to u!
In my opinion its conplete rubbish what they're saying as you can enter the amount to go into ANYONE's bank account, so the only reason that alarm bells should start ringing is if you put down the details of someone else's account other than your own.
They're just trying to hold our money for aslong as possible. Quick enough to take it when we owe tax tho0 -
He's obviously wrong. There's a secret HMRC employees handbook that says if you phone 6 times in one day it over-rides the security checks and is paid instantly.
I know all of those words, but in that order they make no sense.
If that's the case then why doesn't everyone ring up 6 times a day to get their money quicker?
If anything, ringing 6 times a day will slow down your process and rais suspicions so they'd probably start doing security checks on those who ring 6 tines a day0 -
I've heard about that handbook!!0

Hi, my rebate is for 3,600. I phoned them today and got straight threw on the international number. I explained that I never had to wait this long before with repayment pending and the lady asked me to go on hold for a minute while she checks what is happening then came back with the response that as long as there is no problem with security checks I should get it within 7 days. Let's see I'm not hopefull. In my Opinion I think there overloaded with people doing there returns at the start of the tax year and with easter holidays, kids of school so parents have to take time off hmrc are under staffed. Just my opinion!. It doesn't help us that are needing these repayments.0
