    I wondered that too.

I do self assessment. I don't earn enough for it to be an issue, but I wondered if the £7 had to be declared, rather than the £4?

It is an interesting issue - as it is for the Halifax Reward and the Santander 123 Fee. I don't think that the Blue Reward, or the Halifax Reward, should be treated as Taxable Savings Income. One just has to find a suitable label for the £3 as a cost wholly and necessarily incurred in the earning of the Blue Reward.

Pretty small beer for the individual, anyway :)

    Is blue reward worth it?

    I have Barclays Current A/C & Savings A/C

Also have TSB Classic plus A/C.

So what do you get apart from the £7 reward/£3 fee??

do you get any other extras/benefits??

    For you - hardly.

Nothing - unless you have a mortgage or insurance with Barclays.
do you get any other extras/benefits??
    No

Would the blue reward be covered by the new £1000 allowance before tax, or is that only on interest earnt on savings and not "rewards " like this?

AIUI, No. As you say, that allowance is for Taxable Savings - which basically means interest earned as a return on money lent.

I renewed my contents insurance with Barclays effective 25th of August, but have not received the extra £3 reward (I only got the regular £7). Do they pay this £3 reward separately?

According to the T&Cs it should be paid today:

I received my first current account £7 on the 3rd of August, then my £5 mortgage reward on the 4th. I've just got my second account reward today (1st Sept), but no sign of the mortgage one yet.
    • The rich buy assets.
    • The poor only have expenses.
    • The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.

Anyone had any luck of automating the withdrawl of the blue rewards?

Just to bump this - I tried a direct debit from a Tesco account but it never took it.

    Anyone thought of another way?
Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.

What DD if it's a 'wallet', not an account and, AFAIK, doesn't have a sort code and an account number?
