You sure ?
Strangely enough, the Housing Association who employed these guys (supposedly to eliminate parking wars) ended up being clamped themselves when they parked there
It wasn't in 2015, it was a while back.0 -

I doubt that many people, at least locals who know the area, would park at Asda in Llandudno if they wanted to pop into town. Maybe tourists who don't know the town so well might do so but I think people from all across the UK are now wise enough to the operations of these car park scammers to be wary enough to check first.
However if you do visit this particular Asda you'll firstly find a petrol station as you drive onto the site, the cheapest in the area to be fair, so you might stop to fill your tank. Then there's a covered area outside the store where they sometimes have a sort of "pop-up" shop, e.g. gardening stuff at this time of year. Then you set foot inside the first thing you see is an in-house opticians so you might pop in for an eye test. Then across the way is the photo section so you might stop off and print off a few snaps. Then there's the pharmacy so you stop off to get your prescription filled. Then you're into George so you spend a bit of time browsing the clothes. Then after George you're in the entertainments section so you have a look through the DVDs, CDs and games. Finally you arrive in groceries and set about doing your main shop. Along the way there's a household goods section selling crockery, pots, pans etc. They after fruit and veg there's the seasonal aisles and the book aisle so you have another browse. Then you queue at the till and after paying to spot the instore cafe so you stop off for fish and chips and a pot of tea. Then you make your way back to the car and realise you've been in the store for four hours. And that's before you have to queue for half an hour to get back out of the car park.
If they want to have instore opticians, pharmacies, cafes, etc and sell non-grocery items like DVDs, CDs, clothing, homewear and so on they should allow people the time they need to take advantage of those services.
In any case if customers of other shops do park there then there's always a chance they'll pop into Asda while they're there so they're potentially losing sales by chasing people away. The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
And I look like a tramp and tramps like us

Thanks for the helpful replies to my parking ticket whilst in Asda. I had a meeting at my local CAB due to me being in financial difficulty, mortgage, utilities, council tax, you name it. This asda is situated very close to town and is free whether you use Asda or not. From the CAB I had to go to the bank to plead for more time to pay my mortgage. I need my car for work before anyone asks. From there I went to the food bank using a voucher given to me by the CAB, it's hard to park there so easier to walk, in this time I had gone over the limit. Yes it's my fault.
As for the negative replies, I'm not sure why you bother to reply if you have no intention of helping, I suppose it gives you something to do, how sad.0 -

Well, you'll know in future.
Keep under the 2.5 hours and you'll be ok.0 -

On the subject of CAB don't ask them for advice on what to do with your parking invoice. They'll most likely say you have to pay. Start a new thread on the MSE parking forum instead and you'll be told you don't have to pay and given proper advice on how to proceed. It sounds like you've got enough to worry about already without having a scam company trying to exhort money they aren't legally entitled to.0 -

What negative replies? Apart from one comment about spending that much time in Asda, you were signposted to better sources of information, offered some advice about the legality of the ticket then the thread moved on to general car parking issues other than yours specifically.
If you see that as negative, maybe internet forums aren't for you.0 -
I believe you can file all such fines under "B for Bin".0

Bad, outdated advice.

Only if you're in Scotland...I believe you can file all such fines under "B for Bin"."Facism arrives as your friend. It will restore your honour, make you feel proud, protect your house, give you a job, clean up the neighbourhood, remind you of how great you once were, clear out the venal and the corrupt, remove anything you feel is unlike you... [it] doesn't walk in saying, "our programme means militias, mass imprisonments, transportations, war and persecution."0 -
Why would anyone spend more than 2.5 hours parked in an Asda car park? Even if you WERE shopping there, why would it take more than 2.5 hours?
Grocery shopping is my vision of hell - I'm in and out of the supermarket in no more than an hour. I can understand others may take longer to do their shopping but 2.5 hours.............seriously?
My elderly parents do. Its their day out, once a week! They go to the local Sainsburys and each get separate trolleys. They separate and get clothes and non perishable food. After an hour or so, they meet at the cafe and have lunch.
They then go off again, usually more food. After an hour, they meet at the cafe and have coffee while reading the papers. Finally, they go off again and get the things from the fridges and freezers. They spend hours in there (I was amazed the first time I went with them!).
Between them they regularly spend over £200 per visit.
Also, this particular Sainsburys car park is used as a park and ride for the hospital, so I hope it doesn't get managed by a parking firm in the future.0
