Anniebooklover - I loved the West Wing - have you started watching Studio 60 on The Sunset Strip? I've got on the sky+ but not yet started watching, as I like to have 2 or 3 before I watch a new series.

mookbargirl as thriftlady says, it's nice to have another WW fan. I am such a WW saddo that one of my e-mail addresses is "lemonlyman" after Josh's fictional fan site. :o I have been watching Studio 60 (to be honest I would watch Bradley Whitford read the phone book) and while it is obvious that it was written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by Thomas Schlamme (the same "talking while walking" scenarios), it isn't quite as sharp as the WW. Enjoyable all the same - though I did see something online about a petition to keep Studio 60 on air so I'm assuming that the American public haven't taken to it so much. OK, I think that's quite enough from me on that subject. :o
Flowers are sorted!!! :j I am getting my delivery charge refunded and the bouquet has been upgraded to the top of the range and will include an apology from the florist. It's still going to be delivered 4 days too late but it is better than nothing I suppose.

DS and DD have now gone with XDH. They had been planning on going down to Longleat tomorrow but may have to rethink that as the 6.00pm weather on news 24 gave a weather warning for the southwest tonight. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Ooohh, thriftlady, I think I will join you in a litte glass of wine. The sun is shining and my book is calling to me. A little glass of wine will top it all off.

    Bye for now. xx

    Hi Everyone

Lurking again! Read a fair bit today at work, took notes about who I need to mention and left them there.

Have been really busy over the last few weeks with DGSs, new DGS, garden, DH coming home from his foreign trip (complete with a super duper new camera!) I have had to download all sorts of software for him, print out manuals, and mop his fevered brow.

Still feeling slightly sore time to time from dislocation, had HRT check at doctors today and have been told to wean off having been on for 10 years following total hystorectmy (spelling!!). Seemingly not good long term. Short term definite benefits OK but doctor said that new reports say long term can cause problems. Also blood pressure tablets increased yet again as still high! Have re-arranged dental appointments this Thursday and Friday for impressions and extraction - any wonder blood pressure is high.

Special mention to JackieO - you are a total inspiration to us all with your attitude to what is about to take place. Love and hugs.

Well done to anyone in Scotland whose children have had their results. Those that we know have been pretty good. All the Standard Grade kids have done really well with nothing below a 2 (apart from one 3 but still an OK pass). Mixed results with the couple of kids getting their Highers! A tad lower than they had hoped I think.

Finish up again tomorrow to have last 5 days of leave. Partly for tooth things and then having DGSs (1 +2) Sunday until Wednesday morning. School staff back next Thursday! Construction things at work horrendous. I went out for 40 minutes to doctor and came back to even more fencing off - thought I was in a time warp driving through one barrier and couldn't see the way out of the one they had constructed whilst out! Dirt in school awful and everything a mess. Kitchen worst of all and they have to produce dinners a week on Monday coming!

Love and hugs to you all. I will try to get back on track, honest!

    Love GB xxxxx

Well Churchmouse is not a happy bunnyicon9.gif I still do not have hot water!!

To cut a long boring story short, the boiler worked for one hour for flushing and testing purposes, after which it has died! The manufacturer will be out tomorrow. I had worked up a good sweat in the garden in anticipation of a lovely shower. Maybe not hot but definitely warm:D Instead I had my second cold shower of the day!!!! I will NOT be showering before bed, and it will be blooming quick again in the morning:rotfl: :rotfl:

Love the name, Snowy. Stick with it even if *it's* a boy, he'll not know the difference.:D :D

anniestar, hope you get your computer back. If not, and if my water does not get HOT tomorrow I'll see you in Holloway Prison:rotfl: :D Maybe we can share a cell;)

Off to get a glass filled up, great idea thriftlady, although you started some time before me:D

    CMxx

    Evening All

(((Beemuzed))) Thinking of you, and you JackieO - hope it all goes well Thursday although I am sure it will.

Churchmouse - poor you, when I had my boiler fitted I was without heating and water for a few days and it was December! Cant personally think of much else worse than a cold shower - hope its back on pronto tomorrow.

Been in my office all day, 1 load of washing done and nothing else, OH cooked tea. Good news is I am 3/4 way though my horrible filing job, should finish early tomorrow. Have told oh to make sure I do this job weekly now - cant bear it the way it has got.

OH has also said will do the hoovering tomorrow so will be able to get on with some other houswork - want housework relatively up straight so can really enjoy and chill at the weekend.

    Best be off now.

Thanks, but now I feel like a complaining wimp:o :rotfl: :rotfl: No heat or water in December:eek: Actually, I have been there when the kids were small, and to add to the misery, the TV packed up as well:rotfl: I think my frustration comes because it's a planned replacement, the old one was still working. If it was a breakdown, maybe I wouldn't be so peeved at going into a third day.......or maybe I would:rolleyes:

Bad news...Teddy hates the new kitty.

Why not ask the vet for a feliway diffuser - its a feel good factor for cats and it will help the transition of a new kitty into the household.
Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j

    Evening all,

Hardly evening anymore but just need to get my squeak in before I go to bed.

    Welcome to all newbies

Hugs to all in need...Queenie, Pinkwinged and beemuzed and anyone else I have forgotten

Picked my first kohlrabi today, stirfried the greens in sesame oil, grated the bulb and drizzled the whole lot with oyster sauce, delicious...we also had a herb salad with sliced mangetout and spag bol, so all were very satisfied with dinner...have decided that at least some of dinner is coming from the garden every day, even if its only nasturtium leaves in the salad!

Have been reading about square foot gardening and am going to have a go, apparently its very economical in use of space and prolific in produce so worth a try...OH doesn't yet know that he is making the frame to-morrow morning!

Just remembered that when I stripped my bed this morning I only got as far as replacing the duvet cover before I was called away...must go now and finish the job, although the cover is the thing I dread.

Sleep well everyone who is not sensible enough to already be in bed

Whinge, Whinge, Whinge Churchmouse :D dare I say it what springs to mind. :silenced: :rotfl:A teensy bit of cold water is very refreshing. Think of it as a character building exercise. :D

Snowy Petal is a lovely name. It sounds you will have your hands full for quite some time.

Well I've been a lazy moo this morning. Went back to bed after getting DH off at 5am. It's nearly 9am now  so I better get off my small bottom :D and do some work.

Have a good nights sleep everyone. Byeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)
