I've come back fully recharged and have another week off to get back ontop of things. Unfortunately there renewing the water main in our road and we dont have any water during the day.
(((Hugs))) and prayer to Jackie O for tomorrow.

Wash the outside windows if the water comes back on.
Iron the bits in the laundry basket.
Start to tidy the garage and hope that DH decides to help.

Morning all,
I'm still enjoying the peace of a family-free home (wouldn't want it to be permanent of course). It is definitely weird though. That time between about 5 and 8 when I'm usually preparing an evening meal, serving it and getting them all off to bed and settling down for some child-free time is very long when they aren't here. I ended up going for a walk after supper yesterday just to kill some time.
I can't get over the fact that when I go into the bathroom/loo it doesn't smell of weeI thought I was just bad at cleaning but since I cleaned the loos on Saturday they have remained clean and odour free. I will have to do some serious training with my boys when they get back (don't think OH is responsible).
I haven't hoovered since Saturday either and that's usually a daily occurence.
Fortunately I am sleeping well this time round -slept very badly when they were away last year.
Anyway, I'm off to town to buy new school uniform for DD, have a good day all:hello:0 -
Mornin campers,
hope all is well with everyone,
FBThree -your cat tales made me chuckle,i have a rescue cat and one from next door who has 'moved himself in' we called him george bush because like the president he invades where he isnt invited!
The oforementioned george bush, was going crazy last night, screaming like he was getting killed.i went outside and found the poor sod dangling off one of my patio chairs with his foot caught in one of the seat slats.i managed to move him onto the seat then OH managed to wriggle his leg out.George bolted and ran behind the greenhouse (probably cos my border collie chased him at full pelt:rolleyes: )
we were convinced he had broke his leg,OH said it looked a really dodgy angle as he tried to help him.and he went nuts as he tried to move it. George however is made of strong stuff and was back swiping at dog within the hour, foot fine.
im so glad he is,next door dont bother with him at all ,so i doubt they would have took him to the vet if he was injured.
AUSSIELASS-im so jealous of you.we have a garden with 3 veg plots ,however since we got our pup last summer it has been wrecked.and this year we have left it.the pups almost 1 now and has stopped chewing everything that grows,so next year i will be back on track growing allsorts like i did last year.
dannahaz- sciaitca is really horrible,i have had this since christmas last year, after injuring my back at work:mad:
i can totally sympathise with you,the only thing that eases mine is a hot water bottle, not great in this weather though.hope it gets better soon
well i havent got much plans for today, got to take mutley for a run, then think of something for tea, maybe do a bit of ironing that was put off from yesterday:rolleyes:
hope everyone has a good day
chow for now

Good morning All!
Dogrose, you must be very proud of your son - he's done very well!
JackieO - just to echo evryone else's comments on what a strong person you are. Definitely be thinking of you tomorrow.
Jealous of all who live in or have been/will be visiting Cornwall! Lucky lot!
Couldn't get to sleep for ages again, so came down to read and sat until 2.30am....now feeling a bit tired to say the least! Have walked dogs before it gets too warm, WM has just finished...and finally I am in the middle of sorting out DS's long neglected cupboard! Very slow job as keep finding things long forgotten, including letters/cards written by his brother (he died 17 years ago, aged 16), toys I know they both loved, etc, etc. I must be ruthless!! We need the space!
Hope you all have a good day, with loads of (((HUGS))) to all who need one.Resolution:

mrs mix your way sounds much easier than my suggested method.
good luck!
joannasmum ((hugs)) hope you're no longer down in the dumps.
csarina I wouldn't be too down about not going to France. I'm sure you will have a lovely time in Florida. I really miss my holidays but I just can't afford it right now. Maybe next year.
thriftlady enjoy your clean and tidy house while it lasts. I guarantee that within 30 mins of your darling children returning home, it will look like a bombsite. I speak from experience. BTW did you see Mastermind last night? The winner's specialist subject was "The West Wing". I did quite well on the questions. He answered two that I didn't but I got the one that he didn't so quite chuffed with myself.
beemuzed cleaning out that cupboard must be a very bittersweet experience for you. Maybe your DS would like to help you.
Update on the flowers - the florist who was supposed to deliver the flowers on Saturday was closed all day yesterday. They are now speaking to the delivery driver to find out what happened. My patience is wearing extremely thin.
Must get on. Haven't done very much this morning and I know I will end up regretting it later. Toodles. x"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

That's a tough thing to do, no matter how long ago it was - sounds like you need a big (((((((HUG))))))) yourself.Everything in moderation..............including moderation..............0 -
((((((beemuzed)))))))) that's a very tough job.
And dogrose, big congrats to Ds:T :T :T An excellent achievement:DYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
BEEMUZED - (((hugs))) to you for what must be a difficult job.
JOANNASMUM - welcome back!
THRIFTLADY - Yes, it is strange having an empty house. I find I talk to myself even more than usual! I spend a lot of my time sorting out cupboards which is so much easier on my own - I can be more ruthless. I have several bags lined up for charity shops, some more things for eBaying, when I get round to it, and I've got rid of loads of ancient paperwork from about three houses back! Dinnertime is definitely the strangest time when you're used to cooking for more than one; I thought I'd become a lazy cook on my own but the OS and cooking from scratch is well and truly ingrained in me now. I cook the same amount as usual and freeze the rest.
I knit and read in the evenings - there's never that much on television so I don't often turn it on. I find I'm not lonely at all because I like my own company but I'll be glad when DH is back (although that opinion might change within half an hour of his return!).
DANNAHAZ - I hope you get your sciatica sorted out. I slipped a disc in my back about twelve years ago and it affected my leg badly - I'm quite wary these days because I'd hate to get that pain again; you have done such a lot of heavy landscaping lately so take it easy!
Well, off to do something - don't know what yet, I'll have a wander round the house.
