  • Morning everyone

Hope everyone has settled into the summer holidays nicely

Just returned from 4 days near Padsto w-- or should it be Padstein !!:j

Anyway the ex AA van proved to be a triumph after a shaky start the first night when I thought I had lost £50 ( found later!! ):j

The views were fantastic, the sun shone in the main and I went swimming in the sea. Call me a wuss but it was freezing!!:D :D

( Ah just learnt how to include smilies)

Well I must leave the computer alone today as I have a friend coming to stay tomorrow for two days so must get cleaning !!
Especially as there are some suspicious rearrangemts of things so I think DD2 has been busy entertaining in our absence !!

    Have a good day everyone

Morning everyone, and welcome home PenPen!

It was forecast to be heavy showers today, so we hadn't gone down to our boat. Instead, it's glorious weather.

DH outside digging out the "terrace" area and putting down the sub base for the paving, which should be arriving today. I spent quite a lot of time yesterday sifting the spoil, and finding a home for the sifted stuff.

Off to the Doc's today. I think I've got sciatica. I've thought this for several months on and off, but now it's getting worse..and the top of my leg is really painful now.

Did my hand washing today and my bras are now adorning the washing line. WM on. Not planning on doing any housework today.

Am doing the next step of my home made blackcurrant vodka today. It's cooling at the moment, I then need to put it back together, add some lemon, and then leave it again.

Dinner tonight will be pasta bolognese, hm ready meal.

Have a good day everyone xxxx

JACKIEO - just had to comment on your upbeat attitude - it's really heartening. I think you should be provided as a service on the NHS for anyone else going through the same thing; you are so positive and inspirational. (((hugs))) to you and I will light a candle for you, as well. I like that idea - in fact, girls, lets all light a candle!

Will be thinking about you especially on Thursday.

    Good morning everyone

dogrose congratulations to your DS. Excellent results. We are still waiting for DS's English KS3 Sats results which are supposed to arrive sometime this month.
Aussie are you planting all this fruit and veg so you don't have to visit the misery at the store quite so often? ;)
PenPen glad you enjoyed your holiday. We loved the Eden Project. We didn't get to see everything either. XDH is taking DS and DD to Longleat later this week for a few days. I wonder if they will venture back to the Eden Project?
tired mum have a great housework-free day at the zoo.
mrs mix washing the dog's ears out? How do you do that? I have visions of you pinning the dog to the side of the bath and using a scrubbing brush with lots of soap. I can imagine it would be a struggle.
kyle hope LO's temper improves or you could be in for a verrrrrrry long day. Hope DH passes his exam too.
(((hugs))) to all who who want/need one.

Plans today are to buy some coloured glitter to finish off the Christmas cards that DD and I made at the weekend. Then I need to go into the office to check the answering machine, open the post, check e-mails, etc. After that, I think DD's friend is coming down for a few hours so we won't be going far.

I need to get caught up on the housework as I have let it slip since the end of last week. The lino in the bathroom needs finishing and the staircase carpet badly needs sweeping (I *hate* that job as it is back-breaking).

    Have a tremendous Tuesday. xx

    Good morning all!

    Welcome home Pen-Pen! You've been missed!:D

Snowy, so glad you've got kitty. Hope Teddy doesn't show off too much;)

Jackie, you're in my prayers and thoughts. If determination counts for anything you'll be absolutely fine:D If I smuggled my ironing down to you, do you think your DD would do mine too:rotfl: Congrats to DGS on his *extra* work. You'll have to let us know what he gets in so we can look out for him! (Just realised we'd need to know what he looks like to spot him:o :o )

Well I'm sat here, still with no hot water:mad: I know it's warm, but a cold shower IS very cold. Boy was I out quickly!!!! The boiler should be finished today. Can't say I'm that impressed with the whole setup. The boiler may be smaller than the old one, but the pipework is ten times worse!! Going to be a real headache covering that up. Still worse things happen at sea.
The plumber needs me for a *consultation* So bye for now

    Morning all,

    Well done Dogrose Son!

Sunny here today so may spend some of it outside. The allotment scrubland still needs some tending/blitzing. Spent a lot of yesterday inside, starting the big Car boot organise. Meant moving a bunch of boxes around and stirring up loads of dust. Nose running for ages! Living room a mess, can hardly sit down.

Snowy - hope your older two settle down with kitten soon. Lovely to have little paws around isn't it? :) Finlay has been with us almost 10 weeks now (he's nearly 14 wks old) and this week he has finally cottoned on that to get a groom from Echo he mustn't put his paws up to play. Today he had 2 long grooms from her which is a MAJOR breakthrough. I even emailed OH to say there's hope for him yet! Of course he's still terrorising Puschka. He's nearly her size now!

Took Finn to vet to be weighed and am relieved that he is now putting weight back on. Now 1.5kg! Looks like the worming granules did the trick.

Cats confused by new catflap. Left litter tray outside for cleaning/airing. Echo confused by flap couldn't get out. She left me a mega-dump where litter tray is usually :( Boy can she dump for England! Caught her jumping through open window later! Had to shove her through flap twice....

    Have a good day folks!

    Morning all,

Kids still asleep - ds1 never made it to golf as he started with a headache and a rash yesterday - so spent most of the day ensconced on the sofa under a duvet. Pretty sure it's just a viral thing - but want to get rid of it before we go to Donegal on Sat.

Have loads to do in the next 4 days , not helped by the fact I've had the last 2 days off. Have a pile of chutney to make for sale - finally got new jars to put it in - thought I better had, if for sale - aiming mostly at the Christmas market, but dh has people at work who want a price list, just to buy. Also need to get everything ready for Sat, declutter the playroom, tidy round etc, etc

Car is going for a service for the next 2 days - but luckily I have dh's car as he's in Japan. It's also going to be valeted :T - friend of a friend has set up his own business - it's pretty reasonable and they will shampoo all the upholstery etc. Mine is the main "workhorse" car of the family, so it really needs doing. We've been invited to friend's on Weds and are meeting my sister at the WWF centre on Thurs (she's over with the family for a week in the Mournes this week and then Donegal with us (and our parents) next week)

Pink, Churchmouse and JackieO - prayers on their way for you.
    Congrats to master dogrose.
Welcome back PenPen and glad the kitten finally arrived, Snowy.

Off to make a cake to take with us tomorrow

    Have a good day everyone

no nothing as adventurous as that it's a dog ear wash from the pet store pin the dog down as he hates it squirt a good load in fold the ear over and rub outside of ear and then wipe out with cotton wool balls I have to do this every 10 days as he is prone to ear problems

Well thank you Jan for your well wishes on my fruit and veggies unlike some person :D I won't mention  I have only one fruit tree each planted ( 2 apple) for cross pollination & a mixed number of veggie down. I finished watering them and no signs of locusts btw. :p

Annie No it's not to avoid Ol Sour Puss (although every bit helps :D) it's because of the drought the fruit & veg prices are :eek:

JackieO What an inspiration you are. :A
Dogrose Congratulations to your DS. He did exceptionally well. You must be so proud.

CM I hope you get your hot water on today. I thought everyone over there just had one tub a week anyway. :rotfl:Sorry, :o old Aussie joke. :D

PPen Welcome back. Has anyone seen the other PP? I hope she's well.

Kyle I hope DH passes this time.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)
