I can't get over the fact that when I go into the bathroom/loo it doesn't smell of weeI thought I was just bad at cleaning but since I cleaned the loos on Saturday they have remained clean and odour free. I will have to do some serious training with my boys when they get back (don't think OH is responsible).

Hi everyone!
Apologies but haven't yet read the thread but hugs to those who need them!
All is well here and am really looking forward to my hols on Sat...we're off to Northumberland for a week and then staying overnight with a friend on the way back.
The small person has decided to hold a party today so he's busy inventing games for us. He and OH are heading off to MR T for some snacky bits for tea. I love a proper high tea. It reminds me of when I was a child.
Nowt much exciting planned for today as am at work. Bathroom has been cleaned and OH has put out a load on the line. Have also got an enormous pile of ironing to get through so we have some clothes to wear when we're away. That's if I'm not distracted by Rose Elliot's cheap and easy veggie recipes which as just come in from the library. I'm always easily distracted when there's ironing to be done:D
Hope you have a good afternoon.

Hello again
Still at work. Just had one meeting, now I've got another one to get through. Hopefully in an hour's time, I'll be on my way home. I really need sleep!!
Going to talk Christmas holidays with my boss in a second
Can't wait as I've just realised it's a week until I go to see Chicago at the theatre:T (free of course)

Hi everyone,
Hope everyone's having a good day.
Charlies Mum - thanks for the reminder on chore wars, I forgot to claim for the last 5 days, never mind, I've added today's tasks on.
Anniebooklover - I loved the West Wing - have you started watching Studio 60 on The Sunset Strip? I've got on the sky+ but not yet started watching, as I like to have 2 or 3 before I watch a new series.
OH has to work a bit late tonight, so I'll probably read some of my book to pass the time. He offered to take me out last night for dinner but instead I made him cook! He he he. I'm trimming the budget ready for holidays so must save the pennies. After joining the library at on Friday, I'm nearly finished book number 2 and I'll be taking plenty of books on holiday too (another few pounds saved on buying books at asda). Holidays is in less than 4 weeks now so really must dig out all the holiday bits and bobs. Viva Las Vegas!Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
Hello everyone
Bad news...Teddy hates the new kitty... I've got the kitten shut into the sitting room with her litter tray and her water and food. There is a glass door through to the kitchen and Teddy has taken to sitting there hissing and growling. The kitten is a fiesty little girl and has been doing her scary sideways walk at Teddy. Dylan in the meantime has been quite inquisitive, and has eyes like a pair of dinner plates when looking through the glass door. Unfortunately little kitten hasn't used her litter tray yet - and there is no evidence of any presents around and about. I hope I'm there to supervise when she gets fed up of keeping her legs crossed.
I've to take the little baby to the vet's for her microchip, vaccinations etc, so will get him to confirm that she is definitely a girl. I've been provisionally calling her Petal - not very manly, so if she's a boy it'll get changed pronto.
All progress on the housework front has ground to a halt since I've been on kitten supervisory duty. Any excuse will do....:rotfl:

Anniebooklover I missed Mastermind, drat. I do remember a West Wing quiz shown a while back (probably when the series ended) which had David Tennant on -he is a huge fan and could quote large portions of the script. I've been having a bit of a West Wing fest while I'm on my own this week. Mookybargirl another fan :T
Is it too early for a glass of wine ? I have a mini lamb stew bubbling away for my supper tonight -smells gorgeous.0 -
Evening all
Snowy thats a great name - Petal - maybe if its a boy you can just call him Peta
Jackie - massive massive hugs for thursday - if I have to light a candle can I make it one of those lovely posh scented ones and toast you with a large expensive wine?:A
Dogrose - how clever is your DS thats a heck of an achievment you must be very proud
Beemuzed ((((Hugs))))
Had a fantastick weekend in Bournemouth on the boat - not a cloud in the sky all day and I came back a very unflattering red colour despite having quite a base tan. We were on the boat for about 6 hours with of course 2 stops for lunch and liquid refreshment:beer: . Totally sold on this sailing lark so may well sell up and buy one of those posh yaghts and just live on it!!!
Back up in glasgow this week for a course but managed to stop off at a certain OSers mums holiday home in Windermere for an evening which of course then meant the obligatory trip to Lakeland today. :j
Was very disiplined in fact but then we had a really good laugh at some of the products they sell and that I guess people actually buy- won't mention any in case someone does actually find it invaluable but good grief they need to read Thrifty Ways if they do!! (note to self must read that book myself too:D )
Right best get back to work I guess lots to do this evening.
Have a great day all and Jackie if I dont speak to you before Thurs then all the very best and I will be thinking of you loads0 -
